Not long after Ghoul escaped the diner, the flood of Dracs vanished, leaving Jet Star and Kobra Kid to wonder what happened.  They spent a few minutes unmasking the Dracs, horrified to see a few that they knew.

Once they finished, they sat down at a booth farther from the doorway.  "So what do you think happened?" Kid pondered aloud.

"I don't know, Kid," Star murmured.  "I just hope Ghoul got away."

"Fuck."  Kid hit the table with a closed fist.  Star stared at the skinny Killjoy, confused.  "Fuck fuckity fuck fuck."  Kid rose from the table and walked toward the back of the diner.  Star followed in silence.

Opening the door, Star and Kid found the car keys laying on the ground behind a dumpster and the TransAM still parked nearby.

"No," Star sighed.

Kid fell to his knees after descrying a cloth nearby.  Sniffing it, he threw it back to the ground.  "Chloroform," he muttered.  After standing back up, he turned to face Star.  "Now they have Poison and Ghoul.  How the fuck did they find out?"

Star shook his head.  "I don't know.  You've been to the Dead Pegasus; maybe they tagged you."

Kid grabbed the keys from Star and stormed over to the TransAM, sliding into the driver's seat.  "You coming or not?" he shouted out the window at his remaining partner.

Star jogged over and slid in the passenger side.  "Where are we going?" he asked.

"To interrogate Dynamite Demon," Kid growled in response.  They drove in silence to the Dead Pegasus, where Kid practically kicked in the door.

Demon stood at the counter, watching the infuriated Killjoys enter.  "I'm sorry, Kobra Kid, but the news doesn't come in for another three or four hours."

Kid reached across the counter and grabbed Demon by the coller.  "I don't give a damn about the news.  I know what it's going to be.  I want to know how they found us."

Demon looked shocked.  "They found you?  How?"

The enraged Killjoy virtually threw Demon to the ground.  "You tell me.  You're the only person who's seen us.  And you're in Better Living uniform."

Star put a calming hand on his friend's shoulder.  "Don't kill him, Kid.  He's no use that way."

Kid sighed and breathed deeply, trying to calm down.  Demon straightened his uniform and leaned on the counter in shame.  "Yes, I told them.  I hate that I did, but one of the pigs stormed in with a few Dracs just after you left yesterday, Kobra Kid, and he demanded that I tell him if you had been here recently.  I knew he already knew though.  There's cameras in all the corners."  Star had to restrain his friend from murdering the other man.  "I told him I didn't know where you lived, but he made me describe the car."

"You're a traitor to the Killjoys."  Kid growled, pulling his gun out of his holster and pointing it at Demon's head.

"Don't shoot him!" Star pleaded.  "Don't stoop to Korse's level."

Kid placed his finger on the trigger, then moved his arm and shot each camera in turn before reholstering his gun.  "Now, Demon, which way did they go?"

By then, Demon shook with fear from nearly being shot.  "That way, Kobra Kid, sir."  He pointed down Getaway Mile toward Battery City.

"Of course," Kid muttered, turning and walking toward the door.  Star followed close behind.  The pair climbed back into the TransAM and sped away from the Dead Pegasus toward Battery City.

Fun Ghoul sat on the ground with Poison partially in his lap for hours with the latter slipping in and out of consciousness periodically.  To sheild him from the cold, Ghoul had given Poison his vest as a blanket.  At one point, Poison's sleep had fallen deep enough that Ghoul was able to lay him down and go look at the bundle of clothes in the corner.  Without a doubt, they were Poison's, but they were soaked and freezing.  Quietly, Ghoul shook them out and hung them over one of the horizontal poles to dry.

"It's so sweet, seeing a Killjoy actually take care of someone," a voice sneered from outside the cell.

Ghoul knew it was Korse, so he continued hanging the wet clothing without even turning around.  "What do you want, Korse?" Ghoul muttered.

"Nothing at the moment, Fun Ghoul."  Korse honestly sounded disinterested.  "I just brought a bite of food for you and your fuck buddy to share.  He hasn't eaten since he was last with you."

That was breakfast a day and a half ago.  Ghoul felt his gut tighten and he looked down at Poison and how hungry he looked.  Setting down the remainder of the wet clothes, he walked to the front of the cell and took the single dinner roll Korse held in his hand.  "Why the sudden kindness?" Ghoul wondered aloud.

"Well you're no good if you're dead," Korse smirked before pivoting on his heels and strutting out of the dungeon.

Ghoul looked at the roll--he was hungry--and decided not to eat any of it himself.  Poison needed it more.  He crept over to his sleeping boyfriend and sat down.  "Poison," Ghoul touched Poison's right shoulder lightly, "I have food, wake up."

Poison woke with a start, afraid that Ghoul's presence with food was a nasty trick by Korse.  "Are you real?"

Ghoul wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry at the fact Poison trusted people so little.  He settled on leaning down and kissing him lightly.  "Yes I'm real.  Here, have some food."  Ghoul handed the roll to Poison, who took it eagerly.

Turning the roll over in his hands, Poison looked at Ghoul with saddened eyes.  "Have you eaten?"

Ghoul couldn't stop the sigh from escaping him.  "Not since last night, no.  But you eat it."

Poison shook his head and broke the roll in half.  "You eat too."  He handed half to Ghoul before taking a bite himself.

The two captives ate in silence before laying down again.  Poison laid facing the wall with Ghoul curled protectively around him.  Neither's hunger had been completely appeased, but both felt a little better; however, they knew they had just hit the eye of the storm.
