Tonight I worked in an unmarked car for the first time. Wow. It's like standing in the middle of the town square and having people walk up to you and ask you to arrest them. It is really amazing the things that you see in the ghetto. My partner Genaro and I were set to work a special detail for Rashoshana. There is a single synagogue in Foothill division and we were set up in uniform in a plain car to stay in the area during services and make sure nothing happened. Our secondary mission was to look for BFMV (burglary from motor vehicles), burglary and grand theft auto suspects as there has been a spike in this one area of the division lately. So, we're rolling around in the back streets around the synagogue and there are 3 guys standing on the sidewalk chatting. As we went by I could smell the MJ pretty strongly so I asked them what was going on. They still didn't realize that I was a cop (even though I was in uniform) and just kind of looked at me funny. So I asked them if they had any MJ. They were still stupified. So I got out of the car. One guy takes off toward the house and I ran after him. I was able to get up, stop him and take him into custody without a problem. It turns out he was selling MJ and so we booked him. A couple hours later after finishing the report, we go back out to look for BFMV suspects again. About 10 minutes later we stop a guy and this one has cocaine. Another dope arrest! It was actually kind of irritating because we had a specific mission. Oh well, sometimes you can't get what you want.
Other than work, things have been good. I saw Mike Kritzer for drinks the other night and I already have plans for Friday (I work Saturday and then am off Sunday / Monday).
