Well, we got phone back the same day I posted last (though it took lots of calling Bell and a repairman coming twice). Turned out another Bell employee had been to the house earlier in the week and done something to the junction box in the basement that resulted in one of our lines wires being broken. It's fixed and looks like we won't owe anything, so that's good. Water mysteriously came back around noon that day as well.

Anyways, after a long car trip I'm in Montreal! It's good to see Carolyn again.
