Friends, earthlings, bipeds, I am here today in order to promote my fledgling journal called The Chroniclers. I'll save you some time searching -- it is not on Live Journal. It can be found
here. Within its many (lie) pages you will find epic poems (lie), secret double-oh-seven tips for the perfect vodka martini (lie), links to my photography, stories available for download, and entries featuring none other than me.
Here is the blurb that introduces the journal:
"I started this in November 2006. It is my journey as a writer, and gives me another reason to write -- the key to developing my abilities. Hopefully this place will turn into a forum for people to give me advice and feedback on my work, and perhaps for me to do the same in return. If you know my true name, please keep it under your hat. This pseudonym has great significance, and I do not want it separated from my work. Finally, I appreciate and encourage feedback."
What is the great secret? Will Captain Two-Patches ever find his way out and rejoin his brother's sister's cousin's uncle's former dentist's fortune teller? What the hell does this have to do with anything? Visit
The Chroniclers to find out.
Seriously, though: I just launched it, and it is still a work in progress, but my writing career lives or dies based on interaction and feedback. Stick with me while I add more content and figure out how everything works, and do not be afraid to comment on anything. Tell me what you like, what you dislike, what you would like to see added or removed -- whatever. I am too ill to venture out and meet with writer's groups, so I decided to create my own version online. I found several already, but they all want money and also tend to be anal and way too complicated.
Who knows where it will go? It depends on how many people visit and interact, so help me improve the site and my writing. Hell, maybe you can submit your own so people can pour sweet, sweet rejection on you. Maybe they'll even give... what's that stuff called? Oh yeah, helpful advice.
Pass it around!
Now for a catchy slogan. "
The Chroniclers: Because I have nothing better to do with my time." Not true, of course, but what catchy slogan is?
Thanks a lot.
Kenson,
J.Thurn
