I'm wandering back to livejournal again. Every time I try to commit to spending more time on here, the time just runs away instead. I get so caught up with social media (the less writing type of social media) and then I get angry with myself for wasting so much time on facebook! But I recently had my husband change my facebook password and not tell me what it is, so I don't spend as much time on there.
Which leads me right into the biggest news of my life. I am a newlywed of almost four months! I married James on July 2nd in a small, intimate courthouse wedding. We are currently planning a reception in June of next year where I will wear my pretty dress, have an all you can eat candy buffet (Okay, still convincing James on this one), and spend quality time with the people I love. I can't wait!
I also recently went to the first Nerdcon:Stories in early October and I will share Hank Green welcoming the attendees and talking about what Nerdcon is and how it was birthed. The weekend was fantastic. James and I got to see Hank and John Green (the vlogbrothers on youtube) in person and got to sit in on several different panels about different topics with very talented storytellers. I got introduced to Rainbow Rowell, author of "Fangirl" which is currently my favorite book. I had heard of Maureen Johnson before, but I read one of her books for the first time entitled "On the Count of Three" which was a refreshing read about coming of age and sexuality. If you happen to be near/around Minneapolis and you love storytelling in any of its forms, there's going to be another in 2016 and my husband and I will be there!

I have been making a conscious effort to read more. I'm rereading the first three books of the "Heir Chronicles" by Cinda Williams Chima (Fun fact: for years, I thought her name was Cinda Chima Williams) which has been one of my favorite fantasy series for years. She recently published two more books of the series and I've been rereading the previous books before reading the new books. I have also been attempting to write more (how many times have I said that?).
My last major piece of news is I have a new nephew! For those of you keeping score that is now five boys and one girl. I have only one neice. She not lonely yet, since she's only two, but I feel like she might be if we don't get more girls in my family! Anyways, Kaden Oliver came into the world on July 11 (which made my sister, Auntie Willow happy as that was her birthday), and I've gotten to meet him once. And needless to say, he's pretty freakin' adorable!
Once again, I will really try to spend more time on livejournal. No promises, but I will try!
