[The handwriting that follows is fairly neat and precise. Its tone comes across as a bit formal, and at first, the letters appear slowly but gradually begin to show up at a faster rate.]The person who greeted me when I came from the cocoon was very helpful. I understand that this world is called Edensphere, and the only memory I have of who I am is ( Read more... )

Welcome to Edensphere, and you'll find out that it's the place that's the strangest of all.

I'm Kagerou, pleased to meet you. If you need anything, please just ask. Most people will be glad to help--and you can include me in that number.

Thank you for the welcome. I have to ask, why do you call it strange?

I appreciate your offer; are all who live here this welcoming?

You'll see for yourself soon, but there's a lot about Edensphere that's unlike anything most of us have seen before. The Wilderness keeps changing, for one. And right now we're living in a cherry-flowering oak! The whole giant tree thing surprises most people.

I can't really say that. We all find our own ways to make this place home, if we do.

A wilderness that does not remain the same? How strange. The flowers are beautiful, however. To be greeted by those upon arriving was a nice surprise.

I see. Well, even if there are only a few who are welcoming, that's enough for me. Not everyone is the same.

It should change soon again. You'll see then--well, after the Adventurers have figured out whether it's safe.

Some of us make their homes here, others never stop looking for the ones they came from. You can usually tell who belongs to which group, really.

The Adventurers? Are they responsible for protecting the people here?

But since none of us know who we were before coming here, it makes sense to at least try and make something of this. I can understand why they would want to search relentlessly for clues, but... There must be a middle ground somewhere.

In a way! They explore the new wildernesses to make sure they're safe. The Guard protects the Hatchery, and the Watch patrols the rest of the Sphere. They usually all work together if there's a bigger problem, like when the ants came down.

I'm sorry. I didn't really mean we wouldn't all be looking for our pasts--we are. But some of us are--content is probably the wrong word, but we settle in here. Somehow.

And how do you go about getting these jobs? Can you apply for them?

I understand somewhat. I could see how becoming content here would be simple. But there's that urge to find out who I am, and what life I lead before coming to this place. Reconciling those two things will be difficult at best.
