I've never been a huge fan of Finn. He's a the dumb jock that everyone inexplicably is in love with and that's a trope I can seriously live without. And I've always had a place in my heart for Kurt. He's a bitch and I love that. But really he's been super extra-special-hell creepy toward Finn all season and when it finally comes to bite him in the ass he gets a pass.
It's a turn of events that I normally only associate with 12 years olds writing self-insert Mary Sue fanfiction.
Kurt has been sexually harassing Finn for 20 episodes and he can't handle being called on it. His dad's immediate intervention gave him the opportunity to rewrite history, painting himself as the poor little victim.
The way I read the second scene where Finn is trying to talk about what happens is that now Kurt is comfortably living in his revisionist history, while Finn is just a little too stupid to realize he's not the bad guy. As far as Finn can see, the first person to walk in on the fight ripped him a new one, the person he was fighting with is acting the perfect victim, his mother is mad at him, and he's kicked out of the house. All of that adds up in Finn's mind as he did something bad. It would never occur to him that a. people are biased or b. they making decisions without an understanding of what actually happened.
Finn's used to relying on external cues to compensate for the fact that he's dumb as bricks and those external cues are telling him he's wrong, wrong, wrong.
Now, should he have used the word 'faggy'? No, of course not. But really, let's be honest, listen in on any teenage conversation and count the number of times fag, gay, retarded, or lame is used. The fact that the writers/producers decided now of all times was the time to bring out their cudgel-of-PC is upsetting to say the least.
