Exciting Family News!
My younger brother Eric (16 years old on April 8th!) made the National Honors Society at Durfee High School!
I'm so proud of him! His initiation is April 16th at 6:30. The ceremony is a little different this year because the students have to chose a sponsor. The sponsor has to be someone who has positively influenced the student's life. Eric wants me to be his sponsor! He was afraid to ask me. He had my mom do it for him. He's shy. I'm so excited and flattered that he would pick me out of all of his teachers and my parents. I can't wait. I don't know what to wear. I'm so proud.
My parents were really proud of me for doing The Vagina Monologues. My mom said she laughed so hard during my monologue that she was in tears! Even my dad was proud. He said he didn't feel the slightest bit ashamed or uncomfortable. Only proud. My mom said she started sitting a little strighter in her chair. Lol.
My parents also thought that I thought that they were making up the story about the tick. The story is my parents decided they wanted to come to the Friday night show instead of the Saturday show that they originally planned to attend. So Friday around 7:15 I get a voicmail. It's my dad explaining that while my mom was getting dressed and ready to come see my show she found a tick on her. My parents were doing yard work at my nana's house the day before and she must have gotten it then. My dad was calling me from the hospital saying that they wouldn't be out in time to make the hour drive up to see me that night. He promised they would make it the next night. I was a little upset but I had originally been in the mindset of them attending Saturday night anyway. Plus it worked out better because my manager Jose has a crush on my mom and he wanted to meet her and my mom got to see Laura whom she hasn't seen in years.
I thought this was funny that my parents were concerned about me not believing them. I did believe them. That's too random of a story to pull out of nowhere. Also, they've missed shows of mine before and never had a good excuse why. If they didn't lie and tell me elaborate reasons for having missed my shows in the past why would they start now? Lol.
