[There is an intense look in Wataru's eyes, which is very abnormal for the shy luthier, but the situation calls for it. At his left, Kivat is hovering and flapping, and at his right, Tatsulot. Even the little animals have an intensity to their expressions. He speaks in a low voice ( Read more... )

Being so close behind Wataru, Danny saw the people huddling together with a bunch of grunts shooting them off one after another. They seemed to enjoy it. Danny could, on one level, understand them. But that was not why he was there. He'd promised Wataru, hadn't he? Help the people, help the people... At first he didn't know how, but then he remembered how one of the uglies... same as these had reacted when he'd kicked him in the face, clawing at his facemask.... Danny bit his lip. Can't kill, can't kill, can't kill, can't kill, can't kill, can't kill... Deciding to do the same thing again, he ran up the back of one of the grunts this time, hitting him hard in the face, seeing how the mask on the ugly nearly broke, and the ugly panicked, drawing the attention from his friends. Still on the uglies back, Danny looked down on the people in front of them. "RUN!" Then he jumped down, and made sure the uglies was angry with him, jumping and somersaulting out of there fire, and not the fleeing people. Seeing a house further down the street he pointed at it. "THERE!" easily keeping up with them people, hoping Wataru would be able to deal with them uglies... He'd followed order. Help the people.

Wataru was wondering how the heck this man managed to become so agile and quick, to the point that even Kiva couldn't keep up very well. With as much skill as he had known from his own experience and the knowledge left him, he charged in, not even bothering to weaken these Grunts, pumping his sword with red energy and slashing each monster he met. "Make sure they get there alive!" he called back to Danny.

Tatsulot, being the useful thing that he was, again used his little claws to deal damage and surprise to the enemies, keeping them off of Danny. "Aah, these guys don't know when to stop!" Each slash and attack let fly a spattering of sparks and tiny explosions as the little dragon whirled around the aliens.

Having no fear what so ever for his own safety was what made Danny run right into any fight. He was the weapon. Not the wielder. But now he had the people safe, urging them in the small shop he had found. As luck would have it, it was empty. Apart from a terrified shop-keep. He'd done what Wataru told him to. Seeing how the people he'd helped, went over to take care of the shopkeep, Danny took post by the door to keep watch. Keep them alive, Wataru had said. That meant making sure no one found them in there either. Danny really hoped the young man could deal with the uglies himself, but Wataru had told him to take care of the people, not go back to help him. So Danny didn't.

It was probably best that Danny was out of the way, considering the finishing move he was about to perform. Tatsulot, being the noble commentator that he was, flew in near Danny and said in awe, "Oooh, he's going to do something really cool, watch!"

Kiva was easily visible now that the battle had been taken to the open street, five Grunts nipping at the Rider's heels as shining blade struck one after another after another. The beating with the blade slowed as the low-level peons were weakened by each blow and Wataru threw down his weapon, which faded into darkness and glass before striking the ground. From the right side of his belt he pulled a red whistle-like object, a Feustle, and placed it in Kivat's mouth. It played a small bit of music more akin to a flute than a whistle, and the air and sky around Kiva and the enemies turned dark as midnight, a blood red moon hanging high in the sky. Kiva kicked up his foot and Kivat cried out "Wake up!" as he pulled the chains from the armor around Kiva's raised right shin to reveal, again, those crimson devil wings. Up into the sky he jumped, doing a flip, then focusing his devil-winged kick towards the mess of Grunts below. As he crushed them into the ground, a requisite explosion and glass shattering resounded as the night sky faded. He had never used Darkness Moon Break so many times in one day.

With the enemies finished, Wataru reverted to his usual self and ran towards Danny. "Is everyone okay? Are you okay?"

"Cool?" Danny said, looking at the dragon is if just now considering the fact that a toy spoke to him. Wait, what? Blinking a bit in confusion he tried to poke the little dragon that flapped near him. Then he let his eyes wonder back to Wataru, and the... magic? he did out there. It was clear that Wataru was not a normal human, and it both scared and intrigued Danny a little. Especially how he could make day into night almost. When Wataru came into the shop, Danny blinked a bit at him, then he nodded. "OK. Is OK." and then he pointed to the huddled piled of people behind him, further in the shop.

Wataru looked at the people, smiling lightly. "That's good. That's very good." He took a few steps back, leaning against the nearby wall and window, taking in deep breaths. "I think... we should probably get to safety, too. To rest," he slid down the wall to sit on the ground. He was bloody and battered, but not nearly as much as he would be if he hadn't had Kiva.

Kivat flapped over to Tatsulot, the little dragon looking worried. "Doing so much in one day," he said softly to Kivat, "must be exhausting. He's only half-Fangire." Kivat nodded, giving a sympathetic look to the tired hero.

Even Danny could see that Wataru was exhausted. That wouldn't do! Bending down, Danny took hold of Wataru, flinging his arm over his shoulder and partly carrying him further in the store to put him down where he wasn't quite so exposed to the door and windows. Then he walked off inside the store finding a drink and a grilled chicken. When the storekeep started to protest, Danny just gave him a glare, and the poor storekeep shut his mouth. Bending down next to Wataru, Danny held up the chicken and the drink. "Food?"

((OOC: Hope you don't mind Danny manhandling Wataru a little, he just wants to help. If you do, just let me know, ignore this comment, and I'll change it when I wake up in the morning, my time.))

"Eh?" Wataru said softly as he was picked up. He could have walked, really, but it was great seeing Danny take initiative in being helpful. When set back down, he rested his back against a shelf, keeping an eye on the entrance in case more beasts came to play.

He let out a sigh and Kivat and Tatsulot rested themselves nearby, Tatsulot promptly ripping open a bag of nachos and Kivat hanging himself upside-down from the shelf to get a little shut-eye (he was still a nocturnal animal, after all). Presented with food, he graciously took it, smiling gently. He sent a look to the shopkeeper and bowed slightly, "I'm sorry. I'll pay for it later." With formalities taken care off, he opened the drink, made sure the chicken was warm, gave thanks for the meal, and began to eat slowly. Really, he wasn't hungry save for the dull pain of wanting to suck the life energy from the humans he just saved, but his human half needed it to suppress the Fangire half that he had been abusing all day long. With human food, the want for life energy would fade.

[OOC: Not at all! I am quite all right with my characters being manhandled if need be. ♥]

It was all Wataru's fault really... that Danny had started to learn how to help people. How much the friendly musician had influenced Danny was still up in the air though... Danny took a seat close to Wataru where he still could see the door and windows, and kept watch there.
