Yanagi was born in Berlin, Germany on December 21 1985 where he stayed until he was 3 years old. He and his family moved to Japan where he attended kindergarten, and stayed until the first semester of elementary school however due to his fathers work he and his family moved to India. Till third grade Yanagi stayed with his parents and attended a near by school but from fourth to sixth grade he attended an American boarding school further away, which is where he learned English. For middle school Yanagi's family again moved back to japan where he finished school and currently resides.
Yanagi went to a dance school where he learned break dancing and also took part in a dancing contest there where he took 12th place. Wanting to see how good the others where he went back into the hall where he sat and watched until a scout asked him to come to an audition. Yanagi is now a member of an acting group called "D-boys".
Yanagi's hobbies are spending time with friends and karaoke, He also personally states his talents are were street dancing, lock dancing, and pantomime and that his dream was to become a professional dancer. Although Yanagi has lied and said he is shy, he tends to be very hyper and friends with everyone around him. Usually Yanagi is seen sporting a funny face in photos and enjoying time spent with his many friends.
Yanagi is very hard to explain because sometimes it seems like he was two very opposite sides. A hyper small child who looks at you with a cute face as he does bad things side and a serious all about business side.
Accident
On December 14 2003 during the rehearsals for Remarkable 1st Match Fudomine, about 3 weeks before it was due to open, when Yanagi was going back to the rehearsal hall he was struck by a car. For the next two weeks Yanagi lay unconscious in the hospital as he fellow cast mates made changes to the musical knowing that Yanagi wouldn't be happy to hear that they had canceled it. Kimeru left his role as Fuji and took on Yanagi's roll as Ryoma. On January 6th with the musical in full swing, Yanagi opened his eyes for the first time in weeks.
However things weren't at all good, Yanagi and friends & family were shocked to learn Yanagi's body was paralyzed. Another blow came soon after, The feeding tube that had been placed down his throat why he was in a coma had badly damaged his vocal cords. Yanagi now lay there faced with the fear of never walking again and being hardly able to speak.
For four months Yanagi lived a life of hospitalization, and hard rehabilitation to recover some movement. Yanagi also worked on recovering his weight, which had dropped to dropped to 30/40 kg why he lay unconscious. On April 20 2004, Yanagi left the hospital and returned home. Yanagi still continued rehab by commuting to the hospital, and doing independent exercise training to try and get more use of his body back.

* Although Yanagi was born in Berlin, Germany he is ethnically 100% Japanese.
* Yanagi speaks both Japanese and English.
* Yanagi is 5 days older the fellow D-boy member Yuu Shirota (Though he doesn't look it. Y=165cm - S=185 cm)
* Yanagi is one of the original D-Boys.
* Yanagi was the youngest in the original Tenimyu cast. (I think he might have also been the shortest....)
* Yanagi likes to be yelled at by Kenken, because he speaks Kansai-ben, so he starts "fights" with him just so he will yell.
