Well it's been awhile...I'm inconsistant and I can never stick to writing everything down but oh well. I've got all the end of school/prom stuff in actual print so here's about what happened after Grad.
Well the main event I supose is my birthday. I'm now 18 which means lottery tickets, rated R movies and being able to vote...not that being able to vote is a happy idea. I'm rather glad I missed the last election actually. It's basically process of elimination in any Canadian elimination it seems. Birthday went fairly well though, I got nice gifts and had a good time with family. I have to admit that I was a little upset that my dad chose to spend the day at a Regatta with boats rather than with me and the same for my brother but whatever. Everybody needs an obsession right?
My obsession, of course, is Idol shows.
This season of Canadian Idol has actually been awesome which is a big surprise. That could all change with the idols having to sing Gordon Lightfoot music this week but whatever. Of the top 10 there were only a few that I really hated and wanted out and the two who I disliked most are gone. I have two favourites this year, Jacob Hoggard and Kalan Porter. Funny since they seem like polar opposites. Kalan has an awesome voice(not that he beats Darren Hayes or Clay but he's still unbelieveably good) and Jacob is just plain hilarious. I've met alot of strange people and I have alot of strange friends, I count myself as strange but he takes the cake...or the soup bowl since he might prefer that. He's just an amazing performer and he has a great voice. I think his band Hedley are pretty awesome too. I'm not sure which of the two I want to win but either one of them would be great.
I've actually been watching some of the Olympics too which is interesting. The swimming big matchup was kind of anti-climactic but still interesting to see. I'm cheering for the aussies now in any event that the Canucks have no chance in or aren't entered in thanks to Loza.
I did go and see Canadian Idol live (The Top 8 Show) but I've already done my wonderful obsessing about that and I've spilled out my hyperness. My account of that is on the Sam and Mark site. Lol poor people on that site. I just can't stop talking about my idol show and my idols. They've been polite so far though. Wonder how much it will take before I push them over the edge.
Tomorrow on Idol is Gordon Lightfoot week and I only know one of his songs so that could not be so much fun. On the otherhand my fav from last season Billy Klippert will be on the results show plus all the idols will get to play their instruments in a group performance so at least that will be interesting.
If I think of it I'll write down my insights after the show but it will probably be another few weeks or something before I respond again.
