Quote of the Weekend: "He works at the Subway in Walmart... that's even lower than working at Subway... or Walmart... It's the Subway In Walmart... it's not even a real Subway!" ~The Love of My Life Ms. Cynthia Phelps
Johnny and I got back Sunday at 11:30 pm from a wonderful weekend in St. Augustine. It was great to get out of Naples with him for once. Our flight left at 9 am from Ft. Lauderdale, which of couse meant we had to leave Johnny's at 6:15 am. Our flight up was not booked at all. We had a seat in between us, which of course meant I got to lay with my feet in Johnnys lap and nap! He's a good one.
DAY 1: We got to JAX at 10:00, and got our rental car, which I fell in love with and need to buy... a Pontiac G6. Drove to St. Augustine, got stuck in traffic at Atlantic in Jax... got to Auggie, went to John and Maggie's, couldn't get down their street due to mud. Went to the post office, to try to retrive a completly misdirected package, to no avail (left phone number). Proceded to check in at the Days Inn. Then off to visit Meaghan (Johnny's friend) on the beach. Woke her up, went to lunch at Woody's with John, Jessica, Megs, Johnny and myself. Then Johnny and Megs went and did there thing, while I went and saw Jessica's beautiful baby sister!
Met back up at the hotel at 4:00ish... took a nap, was woken up by the post office calling saying they had found my long lost package. Went by myself to retrive said package, made stupid decision to drive downtown by my old stomping grounds... ran into some unsuspecting people that I would have loved to live the rest of my life without seeing. This encounter resulted in one of the said people calling me and leaving me a very immature voicemail, which I have no intention of ever returning.
Went to John and Maggie's wedding with Dave and Jessica at the Catherdral at 7pm. Had a wonderful time. I was glad that John was able to pull himself together (you should have seen him at lunch!) and Maggie looked as beautiful as ever... she's always beautiful, but especially that night! Proceded to the reception... saw the first dance.. John couldn't have been happier! Left around 9:30, got Denny's ate in the room. Went to bed.
DAY 2: Received 2 unwanted phone calls the previous evening. Ignored them, as well as the 6 am wake up call. Woke up at 8:30, showered, dressed, etc. Almost got sucked into an all day marathon of Queer Eye! Checked out of the hotel, headed to the light house. Climbed the light house... ugh is all I can say. Go to the top, it started raining and it was nice and breezy up top. It was the first time I have ever climbed the lighthouse and it was with Johnny, so I was estatic!
Proceded to Meaghan's house to say good bye. Stayed till about noon, went to St. George Street. Met up with Cindy. Bought the World of Flags out of all of their Puerto Rican flag stock (missed Hayden) :( Got Pizza at Pizza Time (missed Hayden) :( NOTICE A THEME! Walked the steet with Cindy, she was a trooper with her poor barking dogs! Walked to the Fort... sat on the bayfront, feeling the breeze. Johnny was amazed by the Fort. He was snapping pictures like a mad man! Walked to Cafe Hildago, got yummy gelato... Johnny was amazed and has found his new passion in life... GELATO!
Met up with Jessica on the street corner she works at... continued to Flagler Library to print our boarding passes. Tried to tour the new student center, that I would like to point out that my tuition dollars helped to fund, and was kicked out by the same grumpy security office that worked there when the building was first opened as a hotel in the 1800's (or whenever)! Cindy and I were quite pissed and may even write letters regarding this matter!
Went to Walmart, to get ziploc bags for our toilteries, since the exploded in the bags we originally brought them in. Went to Jessica's to ensure she was the owner of a yellow bridesmaid dress, fell in love with her baby sister... and must have one of my own very soon! Proceded to 95 and onward to the airport, where our flight was an hour and a half delayed and it made me very grumpy and hungry by the time we got to Ft. Lauderdale, which was supposed to be 7:40, but was actually 9:15!
All in all we had a great time. It wasn't long enough and I can't wait till we can come up and spend a whole week!
