La LA life?
I am so tired it feels like my face is going to fall off. I went shopping for stuff that my apartment didn't have today.
Apparently california apartment rental companies don't rent places with refrigerators. I find this strange. The rental guy said it is because they are 24 hr a day appliances, and thus need a lot of maintenance and they would have to pay for the power they used between tenants. So if you abandon your functional refrigerator in the apartment when you move out they will charge you for its removal.
So i went to a used appliance store and bought a refrigerator. I talked to the woman that ran the place and she said that There were a lot of young actors in town (fancy that) and some of them became movie stars and some of them didn't, but it had become a trend with the penniless ones to sell their land lords appliances in a last ditch effort to pay for their plane ticket, or other means of transportation back from whence they came. In any case, tomorrow at 2:30 i will be the proud owner of a refrigerator...and then i can go buy groceries, eating is nice so i approve of this.
another problem with my room is that it has a light switch but no light. I am not talking no light bulb. there is no fixture. The switch must either operate the outlets or be there for an entertaining psychology experiment. i can't help it. every time i walk into the room i flip the switch even though it does nothing. So after attempting to unpack to lava lamp light last night i decided i needed a lamp and today i found one.
I also bought one of those fold up tables from costco, so that my computers and hardware have somewhere to live. I feel really ostentatious buying all of these things. Though i have been as frugal as possible, without buying crap. I bought an IKEA book shelf, but what can i do i have like 3 boxes of stuff that need to go on a shelf, so tomorrow i will assemble it.
And i still have one big thing i need, a bed. speaking of which i am going to go to sleep now. i haven't completely adapted to the nice weather yet so i am exhausted and i haven't really done much today except drive all over town.
