It's been a quiet Sunday, doing laundry, and writing some ficlets, and trying to decompress from last week's intense business trip. I'm feeling pretty grateful I got most of my Christmas stuff done early. Also grateful I had enough sense not to sign up for Yuletide. Still have to address some Christmas cards tonight, but overall, I'm done, which is a relief. I'm gearing up for tomorrow at work, which is going to involve some really, really unpleasant and negative interaction, which is out of my control; all the negativity is someone else's baggage. But it's just two hours of my life, and then it'll be done, and I can come home and watch my Christmas lights twinkle, and be at peace with it.
The December posting meme is coming along well, but I have had to shuffle some of the writing prompts around in order to have enough time to do them all. (
ariadnes_string, I had to move your topic, too.) If you'd like to know where your prompt ended up date-wise, see below the cut.
innie_darling,
musesfool, and
sef1029, I shifted your prompts to next weekend for posting, because I have words written on each of them, but none of them are finished yet. If they're done earlier, I'll post them earlier.
December 17 - X
December 18 - Compare and contrast different takes on Doc/Wyatt (muccamukk)
December 19 - X
December 20 - What show / book / movie / fandom is bringing you joy right now and what do you love about it? (Or: what show / book / movie / fandom do you turn to when you're looking for comfort, and what do you love about it?) (kass)
December 21 - So I see your list of "things I will attempt" has a lot of Steve. What do you love about the character? (resonant)
December 22 - favorite holiday song? Does it mean anything specific to you or do you just like the way it sounds? (james)
December 23 writing prompts - Tony and Rhodey, creating new Christmas traditions (james); Merlin dreaming/daydreaming about what Arthur would do with modern technology (sef1029); Steve and Sam, low-key downtime (innie_darling); Steve/Thor, training (musesfool)
[no meme Dec 24 and 25] - but in honor of the anniversary of Merlin's finale, I'll poke at all the 'no date, but' Merlin prompts people left and see what comes up
December 26 - thoughts deep and/or shallow about Cherik or Southland (ariadnes_string)
December 27 - Initially, you weren't into Steve/Bucky, but later you got interested in the ship. What finally tipped you over? (gwyn)
December 29 - if you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why? Or write about your favorite trip. (sparkleharder)
December 30 - writing prompt- Finn/Poe, stolen moments (nestra)
December 31 - write about J/D (slb44)
It's been a bit weird, writing fanfic again after such a long absence. But it's nice writing to prompts, because whatever comes out is meant specifically for the person who left the prompt, and that motivates me. It's still difficult, though. Very difficult. Except the Finn/Poe story I'll be posting around New Year's. That one, I'm feeling a lot. (Thank you for prompting it, nestra!)
I spent time this last week downloading all the art I wanted to keep from tumblr, and then this morning I backed up my entire tumblr blog to Wordpress. It was incredibly simple and so far, it looks over there almost exactly like it looked on tumblr, and my tags imported as well, so yay for that. Right now it's all locked up, because it's still finishing the import (there were 25,000 posts, so it's understandable it might take a while). I'm thinking I might keep it semi-locked, once I sort things out, but it'll be at destinaf.home.blog. (Don't forget the f on destina, just like my tumblr, or you'll be in the wrong place.) . It's just the backup, tho; I'm not leaving tumblr. (Yet.)
I'm pretty sure tumblr will still be going strong after tomorrow, but no idea what that will look like. Less penises, probably. Definitely less boobs of all sorts, alas. And less bread. (/tumblr inside joke) Time will tell. Meanwhile, have a laugh at tumblr's expense while enjoying this absolutely hilarious video summary of what's about to happen.
