Disney Parks news from D23
Disney is its own fandom, and OMG there are AMAZING things happening. As I said on tumblr, Disney is about to back trucks up to the parks and shower money on them, because some of our wildest dreams are happening. Including the one I predicted long ago. *g*
- First and most importantly to me, Marvel Land IS CONFIRMED TO BE COMING TO DISNEY’S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE. This is not a drill. MARVEL LAND IS A GO. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry, WDW. But you got lots of good stuff, too.)
- Star Wars Land is going to open at DL first, WDW has to wait their turn (yay, that means we get all the horrific crowds first, how exciting)
- EPCOT is getting a ton of stuff, with a Ratatouille ride, a CircleVision experience in the China pavilion, ‘Futureworld’ revamp, and a version of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride that’s already opened at DL
- TRON coaster is coming to WDW next to Space Mountain, yay!
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway ride will replace WDW Great Movie ride
- DL Paris will have a Marvel-themed hotel
- The rumored WDW ‘Star Wars Experience’ hotel is going to happen and every window looks out into ‘space’ (which means god is real, as far as I’m concerned)
- EPCOT getting a version of the old Skyway, called Skyline, to move people from resorts to EPCOT
- WDW was already getting Toy Story land which opens in 2018
- WHOA NOW. Well. Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure is partially going to Yesterland; it will become Pixar Pier. Uh. Huh!
WELL. This is a great day to be a Disney Parks fan. Meanwhile, I have reblogged lots of Infinity War and Star Wars stuff on tumblr, too, as have 1 million others. If you like that stuff but you aren't hanging out there today, you might be missing out just a little. (Unless you're not into squee, capslock and keysmashing; then you're good.)
