There are no spoilers here. I went to see Civil War again yesterday and came out of the theater with an unstoppable desire to write Tony Stark fic, but that was before the unstoppable desire met my immovable inertia and apathy (which is a result of being overextended and stressed the hell out). I haven't written any fanfic all year -- until last night, that is, when I plunked down 700 words of a Steve/Bucky thing that might crest at 2000 words at best. It will be done better and faster by approximately 9,878,111 other fans - in fact, I saw two stories this morning that I liked much better than the one I'm writing.
I also have 4400 words of a Captain America story I've tinkered with on and off for a long time, even knowing no one but me (and maybe Killa) would care to read it. It's just a thing I've got to finish. I am drawn to something particular in the canon I have to dig out and play with. I just do. I'd say that story will end up at about 20,000 words. That's a lot of words. See: inertia and apathy.
Other things I'd like to finish: the Charles/Erik story I started two years ago, which will be jossed in 3 weeks when Apocalypse comes out; the Finn/Poe story I started in December, because even if the story has been Done To Death, I should still post it. Likelihood of those things being finished: unclear.
(And I'd like to finish the Die Hard story I owe Alby, too.)
(But it's hard to finish things. What are words.)
(Can I just sit here and re-read This, You Protect? That would be more fun.)
writing is super hard
