end of year fandom meme

What fandoms did you acquire in 2015?

The Force Awakens. And Finn/Poe, oh my god. I've fallen and I can't get up. Except, there are over 500 stories on AO3 for this pairing now and no one is writing what I want to read. Lack of involvement in the greater SW universe. You know what they say; if you can't find what you want, write it yourself.

Also my Hannibal fannishness ramped up significantly when season 3 aired.

What fandoms did you let go of in 2015?

I dumped Vikings like a hot potato at the end of the third season for reasons, though to be honest, the entire season was not great. Probably won't bother with season four. Also I quit Game of Thrones, I was just sick of the pointless misogyny.

Paul Walker's death, and the sadness I felt after watching Furious 7, has probably ended all participation in that fandom for me. I just...can't.

What fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2015? Why?

Daredevil, maybe? I loved the show, but feel no fannish pull toward it. I also don't care about Hamilton at all, though I support what it represents. (Sorry, fandom!) Ditto Mad Max.

What fandoms do you intend on checking out in 2016?

I never check out a fandom until I actually start to feel fannish about the source material. And even then, I try to stay on the periphery, because where there are fans, there's wank, due to people being wrong on the internet.

I'll still be reading Steve/Bucky (CIVIL WAR HELL YEAH), and I'll keep hoping for Finn/Poe stories that deliver what I want from the pairing, and I'll continue my quest for good Hannibal and 00Q fics.

What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2016 unless things significantly improve?

Penny Dreadful is boring me so much with the Ethan/Vanessa storyline. So it's probably a goner next season, no matter how much I love Eva Green.

What show impressed you most in 2015?

Loved Agent Carter a lot. Love The Flash also; it has so much heart.

What show impressed you least in 2015?

Jessica Jones. I'll just be waiting over here for more interesting shows about Trish and Luke and Claire, because meh. Age of Ultron was also a huge letdown.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?

Agent Carter. Civil War. X-Men: Apocalypse. Daredevil season 2. Luke Cage. Legends of Tomorrow. House of Cards season 4. Rogue One. I'm even going to say Batman v. Superman, even though I think it's likely to suck in every way, because hope is slow to die.
