To the readers, a question

In all seriousness, when/what time of day do you guys read? And if applicable, how do you carve time out for it, between everything else? This wasn't an issue for me when I was a youngster, relatively speaking. But I'm having so much trouble concentrating, and/or finding time to read, that I'm considering going to bed an hour early with nothing but a heating pad and my book, and reading for an hour. I just...I can't concentrate! (Unless it's Steve/Bucky fan fiction, which is obviously quite absorbing. Sigh.)

What I Just Finished Reading

Cyberwar: The Next Threat to National Security and What To Do About It by Richard A. Clarke and Robert Knake. If you want a pertinent book that will scare the pants off you, this is the one. I learned a few things, and about halfway through the book, I began to develop an understanding of the mindset of doomsday preppers and people who want to live off the grid. (I believe in being prepared, and there's no doubt I intend to be the last one on the island, but there are things for which one can't plan unless one goes all out.)

Fallen Son, Civil War: Captain America, Civil War: Iron Man; Civil War: A Marvel Comics Event; Captain America: Man Out of Time by various. Uh. What is there to say about that, really. *g*

The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles - this book was not for me at all. Enough said.

What I'm Reading Now

Vicious by V. E. Schwab - This is the first novel to keep me past the first 50 pages in months. It's very well-written, and the character observations and insights are gorgeous. Sucked me right in. I could do without the hopping around in time, but I'll put up with it if I think it will have a payoff, which I think it might.

Soldier from the War Returning by Thomas Childers - heartbreaking biographical stories of soldiers coming home from WW II, and the issues and problems they encountered.

The Men Who Would Be King: The Courtships of Queen Elizabeth I by Josephine Ross

What I'm Reading Next

The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckey
Thomas Becket: Warrior, Priest, Rebel by John Guy
In The Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson
