Festivids recs: 16 vids in 14 fandoms

I tried hard to get through the entire master list, but it didn't happen; there are still about 50 38 vids I haven't seen, for various reasons. But I watched the rest, so here are links to the vids I enjoyed the most. (Not counting the Red Dawn vid made just for me!)

In no particular order:

Mad Men
Let It Be - a study of the relationship between Don and Peggy, and what makes them similar.

Rubicon
I Follow You - Mmmm, creeper!Kale, following Will as he unravels the puzzle, and always right *there*. I'm still heartbroken that this show was cancelled, but this vid makes up for it. A little.

Event Horizon
Big Pimpin/Papercut - Event Horizon - great illustration of paranoia, and a cool song choice for a mixed (and amazingly appropriate) POV switch in the middle.

Nikita:
Threnody - as I said in my comment: Nikita's quest for redemption is so beautifully drawn here, but the shadows never really fade - especially in the echoes of Alex, and what she represents as her own person, and Nikita's instrument.

Deadwood:
Two beautiful Deadwood vids: Cowboy Singer, a Bill POV on Jane that will break your heart; and Angels would fall, a Jane and Jane/Joanie vid that really needed to exist in the world.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid:
Another twofer: Don't Let It Bring You Down, which was an amazing Butch and Sundance (I see it as slash, but whatever) vid, gorgeously full of emotion; and Ain't No Easy Way, more of a flashy OT3 vid.

Constantine:
In a Moment an unusual POV to see for a Constantine vid (well, from my perspective) and a really interesting way of doing it, and showing this perspective.

Book of Eli:
O Death - I think this song makes everything it touches cool. That being said, the vid is very atmospheric and chilling.

Young Sherlock Holmes:
Senses Working Overtime - I'm just happy to see a vid for this movie!

Memphis Belle:
Vanished Marvels - Just a really lovely ensemble vid. Made me sniffle a little.

Life After People:
End of the World - Seriously, this vid blows my mind. I have no idea how this person managed to make such a boring, static show SO ENTERTAINING. But there it is!

The Frighteners:
Paranormal Activity - in which snappy editing makes the original movie look 1000x more cool and interesting than it really is. *g*

Rebel Without a Cause:
The Weight of Us - wow, just a really poignant look at the relationships in this movie.

Velvet Goldmine:
Jaded - A really unexpected song choice, and the visuals plus song made me feel like I've never really seen the movie this vid is about. Not that this is a bad thing. *g*
