I think I might have to quit watching this show live. Holy hell. How am I supposed to go to sleep after watching that? Cooper's breakdown was wrenching, and his testimony about his father downright chilling.

Josie is still growing on me, but I'm very much liking the way they're beginning to find common ground even while strongly disagreeing about so many important facets of their work together.

Hee, I know exactly what you mean. *g* I run home from class on Tuesday nights to see this, and then I'm wound up for another hour.

I'm with you on that interplay between Josie and Lydia. The fact that things weren't peachy with them from the get-go makes them much more interesting, individually and together.

(finally got a chance to see it)

Oh wow--half of me really wants to see a come to Jesus moment between John and Ben, and half of me doesn't think I'd survive it--how devastating it would be if they let down their walls with each other...eep.

Cooper firmly understands his limits and boundaries with other people, what he can give, what walls he brings down. Ben...I'm not sure about.
I think you're so right about this--though Cooper with the boy, his total empathy and gentleness, had me in tears. But yeah, even their chosen methods of relief are like that: John, the pills that (hopefully) close down pain and other responses; Ben, sex, presumably a desire to lose himself in sensation, in the merge....

I love Josie and Lydia too--

And the scene with the snake was amazing!

I think I'm going to be crushed if that moment between Ben and John doesn't happen! I'm banking on it. :D

And, oh, yes, the way each of them turns to the wrong things for relief of their stress. It's heartbreaking. I mean, they think it's working for them, but...obviously, not so much. :/
