Merlin was exhausted after tending to Arthur all day,when Guinevere came back she relieved Merlin of his duties.
Gwen may have become queen,but she was still One Of Merlin's most trusted and loyal friends.
when she found out about Merlin and Gwaine:one of Arthur's knights,she kept their relationship a secret until they were ready to tell everyone. Merlin was worried that Gwaine would want nothing to do with him after Percival caught them Kissing behind a tree.
"Merlin Love,how could you think that?" Gwaine said Holding Merlin's face.
" I want to be with you,nothing in all the world could change that."
Merlin smiled even though internally he was screaming.
Merlin was out in the fields practicing his magic when he heard someone say "Shit!!"
He turned around and Saw Gwaine Looking at him in Surprise. Merlin thought he heard his heart drop.
"I Can Explain,Gwaine." Merlin said coming up to The Knight.
" I Mean I Suspected you were a sorcerer," Gwaine Started."but when i saw you do that the first time i thought i was seeing things"
Merlin was Confused by the Calm and Peaceful look on Gwaine's Face.
" You Knew all this time?" Merlin said tears streaming down his face.
"Yes I Knew and I Didn't care." Gwaine came closer to Merlin and wiped his tears.
"Why didn't you say anything?"Merlin asked.
"Because i knew that you weren't ready,I Wanted to give you some time to sort it all out."Gwaine said Wrapping Merlin in his arms.
"I Don't feel heavy anymore,I Feel light." Merlin said closing his eyes and taking in Gwaine's scent.
the man always manage to smell like apples,Merlin didn't know why but he loved it nonetheless.
"I Was Gonna Tell you."Merlin said Voice muffled by his face buried in Gwaine's Shoulder.
"Merlin it's ok." Gwaine said. "I Asked Gwen where you were and She said you were out here."
Merlin lifted his head up to look at Gwaine. "Did you just get back?" Gwaine smiled at the look on Merlin's face.
"Yes,we did just get back."Gwaine said intertwining their fingers."I just Couldn't wait to get back to you."
"I Missed you so Much,Gwaine"Merlin said as they walked back to the castle."I Missed you too,love"Gwaine said.
"Getting back to you is what kept me going,during the time i was away." Merlin smiled at his knight and felt Immense Joy.
Gwaine knew about Merlin's magic and he didn't care or treat Merlin differently.
Gwen and Gaius greeted the couple as they made their way back towards the Castle.
"What's going on?" Merlin asked." Does Arthur need me?"
"No I Persuaded him to give you a few days." Guinevere said."You and Gwaine have sometime to catch up."
"Thank you,Gwen"Merlin said."I'm forever grateful to you." Merlin went to his room and decided to take a bath.
once he was done Gwen came into the room." Are you ready for tonight?" Gwen asked. "What's tonight?" Merlin asked.
"Arthur decided to have a Celebration in honor of our victory." Guinevere Explained.
"He Requested that all the Knights bring their Significant Others."
Merlin looked up when Guinevere said Significant Others. "Really he did?" Merlin said."How did Gwaine respond?"
"Gwaine was quite happy,If the Smile on his face was any indication."
Gwaine came into Merlin's room at that Moment."Your Highness."Gwaine Greeted Gwen.
"Now Gwaine,you know how i feel about you being so formal when it's just the three of us." Guinevere said.
"Did you tell him what's happening?" Gwaine asked.
"Yes i did, I'll Leave you to it." Guinevere said as she took her leave.
"Would you want to do it?"Gwaine asked Merlin."When we dance tonight,everyone will know about us."
"Yes Gwaine,i'd love to accompany you to the celebration."Merlin said hugging gwaine.
Merlin Looked in the mirror and felt handsome. the red outfit he had on looked amazing.
"Merlin,are you ready?"Guinevere said as she came in. "Yes Gwen,I'm ready." Merlin said walking towards her.
When Gwen and Merlin came down the stairs the entire became quiet. All Eyes where On The Queen and The Sorcerer.
The two friends parted ways once they made it down the stairs. The Queen to her King and The Sorcerer to his Knight.
gwaine couldn't believe how beautiful Merlin looked when he and Guinevere came down the stairs.
Merlin walked up to Gwaine who held out his Hand. "May I Have this dance?" Gwaine asked.
"Yes,Oh Brave Knight." Merlin said Curtsying. the two men danced and Kept their eyes on each Other.
"It's Just me and You,Merlin."Gwaine said."No one else exists right now."
Merlin put his head on Gwaine's shoulder and closed his eyes.
Gwaine tightened his arms around merlin's waist.
the chill of Gwaine's armor a comfort to Merlin.
The Music and gwaine singing along softly are the perfect mix of wonderful that Merlin can hardly speak.
when the song ends is when Merlin comes back from his stupor.
"Oh Gwaine,this night has been so wonderful" Merlin says as he draws gwaine back from the crowd.
"I'm glad you were happy,tonight."Gwaine said Smiling.
"I'm Glad your home,I thought about you before I went to sleep and thought about you when i woke up." Merlin said.
They walked back to Merlin's room and just as Gwaine turned to leave merlin stopped him.
"I Was Gonna go to my room."Gwaine said looking at Merlin's hand and then looking back up at him.
"Stay Please?"Merlin asked. Gwaine looked at Merlin's hand covering his and Sighed.
"Ok Merlin,I'll stay." Gwaine said kissing merlin on the lips. they walked over to the bed,Taking their clothes off along the way.
when they got in the bed,Merlin laid his blanket across both of them and laid his head on Gwaine's Chest.
Gwaine rubbed Merlin's back,buried his face in merlin's hair.
"I missed this."Merlin said sleepily. "me too,love."Gwaine said.
"You'll Never leave me again,Right?" Merlin asked before Gwaine heard Nothing more then Merlin's Soft Breathing.
"Yes I Promise to always be here."Gwaine said before falling to sleep himself.
In the Morning everyone who wasn't Gwen,Gaius and Percival will have questions about how The two found love in each other.
But for right now,their sleeping peacefully in merlin's bed. Happy to be reunited with One Another.
