I used to have a huge window, almost but not quite, the size of my wall. It was arched, long and tall. I'd sit there and watch the pond from inside the house on most days, or I'll write by the light let in by my marvelous window. It was a nice window. Of course, this was in my younger years so I had pink and white curtains. I loved my pink and white curtains on my window especially at night. It simulated a twilight effect because the light of the moon would cast through the thin, transparent sheets and cash a pastel pink onto my tile while I slept.
It was almost magical.
I believed (and still do) in ghosts and spirits but I couldn't be happy with just believing in them, I have to go a step further. I bought an Ouija board, and a deck of tarot cards from Barns n Noble. I was really hopeful that they'd work. Well... they did.
During the night, when everyone was asleep, I pulled my Ouija board out and sat in front of my window because that was where there was the most light. I placed the board in front of me and asked, "Are there any spirits willing to talk to me tonight?" (Mind you, I was fourteen at the time, so it's a bit childish.
The Ouija board didn't move. I kept my hands on it, but nothing happened. I even tried to fool myself into thinking it worked but I knew I moved the triangle piece.
With the patience of a five year old, it only took five minutes before I finally gave up on it.
I put the Ouija board under my bed and went to sleep.
I woke up later when the curtain rod that held up my curtains had fallen and knocked over my television and dresser. The T.V. landed at the foot of my bed, being thrown like a projectile a few inches away from the wreckage that was my dresser. I woke up with my heart beating and adrenaline pumping through my body. Of course I was confused and scared, at the moment more scared than anything and I didn't think 'Oh my god, it's a ghost'.
All I knew is that there was a huge commotion and something knocked over my T.V., dresser, and curtain rod. (Upon further inspection there was a crack in my window from the awkward angle that the curtain rod fell in, it wasn't a huge crack but more like a deep scratch).
I got up to get to the phone and give my parents a call (they were at work and it was summer time) and I saw the Ouija board out of the box. The board was turned upside down so the words couldn't be seen and the triangular piece was broken.
It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life and its 100% true. I sometimes look back on that day and think that it's all made up, unfortunately it wasn't.
It was indeed the weirdest experience I've ever had. The good thing that came out of that is that I don't scare easily anymore. lol
