RELATIONSHIPS
Enemies
Jim Moriarty
BBC's Sherlock
"Oh, come now. Let's think of this as a partnership, not slavery."Moriarty is the actual owner of the casino Armand acts as manager of. He's also Armand's only real enemy in the city, thus far.
They first met when Moriarty contacted him with a business proposition which he refused to disclose until they met face-to-face. When they did, he sprung his offer - for Armand to be owner of the casino in name only, while Moriarty ran the show. At the same time, he revealed that he had photographic and video evidence of Armand's 'hunting habits,' which he wouldn't hesitate to pass along to Sherlock and/or the city police if Armand refused his offer. Armand, deprived of his powers at the time, had no choice but to agree.
He drew Moriarty's ire for making a decision concerning the casino without his permission, and during a meeting Moriarty had called in order to scold Armand, he deliberately cut himself to watch Armand's reaction, and quite possibly has figured out exactly what Armand is as a result.
Allies
11th Doctor/'Matt Smith'
Doctor Who
"What, Saturnynian, really? No, that's stupid, lemme try again - What, vampire, really?"The man calling himself Matt Smith is perhaps the closest thing to a real friend Armand has in the city.
They met during the mass de-aging and age-up event, when Armand asked over the network how many other adults remained in the city. He ended up revealing to the Doctor that he had been unaffected by whatever had caused everyone else to age or grow younger, and that the cause was probably not an airborn pathogen.
He led the Doctor on a bit of a guessing game as to what sort of creature he was, until the Doctor at last guessed 'vampire.' Much to Armand's amusement, though, the Doctor didn't believe he wasn't some sort of alien making use of the vampire legends.
That the man has gone months without saying a word about him -as far as he can ascertain- has only made Armand more inclined to trust him.
Rebecca Harcourt
Original Character"I'm just glad you're safe. I like you a lot. I don't want you hurt.."Armand first met Becca shortly after getting his powers back. Initially, he bit her as a way of testing out his power to compel - and successfully compelled her to forget that he'd bitten her. He was also able to read her mind and gain some knowledge of her home situation and her power to see the future, so he regards her with very real pity and sympathy, in addition to whatever he might pretend to feel.
He charmed her on a supply run before the power was restored, and had dinner with her after she posted her Thor fanfiction to the network under the pretense of bringing her a few books of the Vampire Chronicles. During dinner at her apartment, he bit her, revealed that he was a vampire, and agreed to be her boyfriend. Later, after she had a vision of his loft building burning down and urged him to leave based on it, she vowed to use her powers to help him and protect him, unknowingly giving him exactly what he wanted.
He took her in after her fight with Cloud, both in keeping with his act and out of real and growing concern and fondness on his part - she reminds him entirely too much of himself early into his time with Marius.
Theta Buckley
Original Character
"It won't be quick. I can't just make a clockwork electricity generator for you, I'd have to rebuild each and every machine there, not to mention the lights."His relationship with Theta is something like a business partnership, and can be seen in terms of a series of transactions: the key to the code he devised in his post about taking out GLaDOS, in exchange for her telling him about ergaleomancy, his commissioning Theta to turn the casino over to running on clockworks...
But there is the potential for it to grow beyond that, as he is genuinely intrigued by ergaleomancy and the differences between Theta's world and his own, and genuinely enjoys his conversations with Theta.
Amelia Wallace
Original Character"Maybe you should have all this instead. You look like you're, um, actually going to live through the blackout "He met her at Jack Harkness' Halloween party. Initially only there to feed and mind scan his fellow prisoners, he noticed Amelia under a table and took pity on her. He fed her, nudged her out of her fatalistic mindset, and gave her just enough of his blood to help with her immediate injuries. If asked, he'd probably say he did it because he hates to see such potential go to waste. Really, though, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he did it because she reminded him of Sybelle or he just plain felt sorry for her.
Of course, all the sympathy in the world won't stop him from using her to any advantage he can.
Other
Damon Salvatore
The Vampire Diaries
"Of course rules don't apply to me. Rules are made to be broken.."A younger vampire Armand's actually taken quite a shine to - mostly because Damon's overconfidence and cocky attitude remind him of Lestat. Damon sussed out that Armand was a vampire fairly quickly, and Armand was only too happy to reveal the age difference and call a truce, to avoid any potentially masquerade-breaking fights.
But he still wouldn't hesitate to end Damon if the younger ever became a liability to him, or the competition for food sources became too steep.
Alcide Herveaux
True Blood"I appreciate the help. If we ever cross paths, I owe you one."He isn't sure what to think of Alcide at this point. It's been revealed that he's something supernatural that doesn't exist in Armand's world, which makes him inclined to trust Alcide slightly less. On the other hand, though, he still seems like a basically decent person that Armand might benefit from having in his corner... decisions, decisions.
