Well I really hope everyone else had a better TLAP day then I did. The best part was probably a 10 second phone call from my old supervisor 'cause he was thinkin' about me and wanted to exchange "arr's!" with me.
Nothing like counting down 363 days for a total disappointment.
But shinny pieces of eight to those who tried, and put their best pirate effort forward! Perhaps next year will prove to be a better adventure.
And to the boys and girls back in BC who lifted their mugs of grog with a hearty Yo-Ho!, I want lots and lots of pictures. And next year, you have to memorize and sign the official TLAP day theme song.
http://www.talklikeapirate.com/sounds/TLAPD_smith.html Of course, it's going to have to be sung while giving the colours a full salute as they raise up the flag pole.
Who knows.... Maybe I'll be out there next year with you to bring in the pirate day. **shrug** 'Cause it seems that those on the west coast have much more fun with the day then us here in the prairies.
I blame that on the ocean. ~.^
That being said though, I couldn't even find a single pirate RP online yesterday! Where the hell were all the Sparrow/Turner/Swan fans?! It was your day to shine! =P
Oh, and before I forget... Langdon: Your girlfriend sucks. Mel: He called you a liar... drunk or not, he still called you a liar... -.-"
So with my Joly Roger back on Paul's bedroom wall; Mr Third Leg tucked safely back into his box for safe keeping; and my pirate hat hung on the coat rack, memories of this year's day are all put away. Jeremy's pirate shirt's in the wash now [for more reasons then just the fact that the day's over with....] I kinda wish I'd gotten a pic of him and I together in our pirate swank. I think it would have made a really cute picture for a desktop or scrap book.
Ah well, next year.
