Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes.
And, again, I have an appropriate icon. Xenosaga Episode III. The cut scenes were just so beautiful. And the fact that you can go back and watch them whenever you want? Greatest thing ever. And yes, I did cry during the ending. Who wouldn't?
Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.
Van, from Tales of the Abyss. Just because, well, in his mind, he's doing what's needed to save the world. Yes, he's definitely a villain, but he accepts that he has to be the villain, has to be the focus of the world's hatred, to free the world from the score. And when he didn't want to fight Guy and Tear? It's because he wanted them not to suffer (his plan was for a group suicide after all the other originals were dead).
You know, if I'm going to go off of "noble antagonists", I'll throw in Wilhelm from Xenosaga, too. Especially with the info from the third game, where you learn that he's also trying to save the world, just in his own way.
I'll note that I'm not picking Luc from Suikoden III for a reason. It's because while yeah, he technically is an antagonist, he's more of an anti-hero to me. And he's definitely not a villain. While yes, his motives are the same as Van and Wilhelm's, where the difference lies is the intention and personal experience. With Van, he's partially in it for revenge over what happened at Hod (like he keeps telling Guy and Tear). And he cares more about the planet itself than the people, considering he wants to replace everyone. With Wilhelm, he's the chessmaster, and is knowingly and purposefully doing evil things, to lead all the pieces to where he wants them, so he can restart everything. He wants to control everyone and everything, not allowing for free will.
Luc, on the other hand... he "knows" that what he's doing is wrong, but he's also seeing it as a sacrifice for the greater good. He's looking at the bigger picture, like the other two, but he and Sarah, at least, are also trying to get people out of the area, because their deaths are not necessary, only the destruction of the land. Which is why I'm separating him from the other two.
