Summary : Taguchi has his ears to all of his friends story, including Tatsuya. But somehow, Tatsuya feels there's something wrong with his friend. That makes Tatsuya confronts him TWICE. Why's that?

Surprised at what had just transpired between them, Ueda falls to his knees as soon as he closed Taguchi’s door. They kissed… and it was mind-blowing. Still in disbelief he made small pinches to his cheeks as if by doing so he would convince himself that it really did happen.
He kissed Taguchi… Taguchi kissed him back and the recollection brings butterflies flying inside his stomach. Did this really happen? Really? But it must have been real because I still can feel the softness of his lips… the touch of his skin on my fingertips from when I touch his nape… and his hair, it was so real… it must have been real, right?… Junno and I just kissed! Ueda smiles at the realization, before he doubtfully adds, and Junno seems enjoying it too...right?
Junno must have enjoyed it as much as I did. The way he sighed in contentment during the kiss… the way he softly closed his eyes… the way he leaned desperately into the kiss... there was just no way he didn’t enjoy it. But then, why did he make me leave after sharing such intimacy and closeness?
Ah, no. it was not after the kiss. It was after he looked at the caller ID on his cell phone.
Deep in thought, Ueda remembers Taguchi’s surprised expression… the nervousness and sadness in his demeanour when he’d told him about his brother and childhood. Then could that have been... a call from his brother?
Nishikido’s words suddenly rings in his head… stories of Taguchi past and his family... about Taguchi and his fears... about Taguchi and his brother.
Walking downstairs to the living room, his earlier conversation with Nishikido weighs on his mind. Everything told to him by Nishikido makes him feel determined yet desperate at the same time. Determination to comfort the younger one, to make him realize that the world will always accept him just the way he is. And desperation... no, maybe frustration, frustrated from the fact that he can’t even approach Taguchi without him being all panicky, making excuses to avoid him… like he has done something wrong. Sitting in the sofa, Ueda sighs in irritation at his racing thoughts, not knowing that someone else was sitting across from him, intently watching since he came down from Taguchi’s room.
“You know, one’s love-life can be just as hard as his real life” Ueda hears. He turns around in surprise, facing the owner of the voice.
“Akanishi, what are you doing here?” he asks, trying to overcome his shock.
“What? now I can’t sit in my own sofa?” Akanishi pouts. Ueda remains quite, “so, what do you think?”
“About what, exactly ?” Ueda frowns.
“About what I just said, Tat-chan!!” Akanishi impatiently replies, “I said that one’s love-life can be just as hard as his real life. So what do you think?”
“I don’t know.” Ueda answers in short, “And don’t call me by that name. You make me sound like a girl.”
Akanishi smirks but continues, “what do you mean you don’t know? You don’t know whether a love-life can be as hard as the real world? Oh, wait until you have Kazu as your boyfriend. Oh yes, he can be a oh-so-sweet boyfriend most of the times -and I love it- But I hate it when he gets miserable and moody because then I’ll have to deal with his sulking all day... like what he did right now. I don’t even know what’s the cause of his mood-swings...” he sighs for dramatic effect much to Ueda’s amusement for he finds it much more interesting than the story itself.
“Jin, I know it’s hard to be Kame’s boyfriend and please don’t get offended, but I don’t want to hear your story. When I said ‘I don’t know’ earlier, I meant that I don’t know what love is, okay?. So, no need to describe your love-life with Kame to me. I don’t know, and don’t care.”
Surprised at Ueda’s answer, “ah, is that so? But why don’t you know about love? What don’t you know about love?” he curiously asks.
“Everything. People keep saying that there’s always a happy ending, that love is like a fairy-tale, but it’s all bull-shit to me.” An awkward silence follows Ueda’s words.
“Uwaaah, Tatsuya you’ve never really fallen in love, right? Your opinion is so extreme. Doesn’t your heart feel extremely happy whenever you’re together with someone? Or... oh, don’t you ever have a feeling or a will to protect someone. Like, ‘I want that person to be safe. And I want it to be me who keeps him or her safe, me and only me? I know you’ve felt it… you’re feeling it now, right?”, he smiles in satisfaction at seeing Ueda’s eyes rounding at the realization.
“Do you feel your heart beat faster everytime you’re with that person? Or sink in disapoinment whenever that person is not around you?” Ueda remains silent, considering all things being said. Akanishi takes it as a yes. “Because if you do, then my friend, you are in love-”
“But... I don’t think it is lo-“ Ueda quickly interrupts
“Oh, no need to be sure”, Akanishi interjects, “whether or not it is love, the only thing you need to be sure of are these: ‘Do you always want to be with that person? Can you see that person being with anyone but you?’ If your answer is ‘yes’ for the first question and ‘no’ for the second, then it is”.
“I know love is not as simple. It’s complicated and twisted and it’s… Okay, put it like this: The more you’re not sure of your feelings for that person, the stronger and purer your intentions are towards that person. So yeah, I agree with you, no words can describe what exactly love is and the more you try to describe and define it, the lower your understanding of love itself...” Akanishi glances at Ueda, slightly giggling to see him frowning in confusion.
“Maa.. I think it’s best if you figure out your true feelings by yourself. I’ve never been good at explaining things. I’m popular for my bakaness, remember?” Akanishi walks from the room leaving Ueda alone. For the first time, Ueda thinks that Akanishi might be making sense.

Akanishi walks to his room, a smile of satisfaction pestered across his face. On spotting his lover sitting around the dining table equally smiling at him, his grin grew even wider.
“Kazuya!!!!” He yells in enthusiasm only to have Kame silence him immediately.
“Bakanishi! Don’t yell! Ueda can hear you! Geez... So, how did it go?” Kame asks his now pouting-boyfriend.
“Sorry. Oh, everything went perfectly well as you’ve planned Kazu. Very soon he’ll definitely understand what he feels for our Taguchi!” his eyes sparkle as he explains to Kame.
“I hope so, Jin. I hope so..” Kame replies, “That’s all I can do to them. I hope they can figure out their feelings soon.”

Ueda eats his dinner in silence, just like Taguchi is doing, him of course, knowing perfectly well the cause of Taguchi’s unusual quietness. And how could he not have known? With the younger lad stealing glances at him every 5 minutes, he was bound to figure it out, even if Taguchi would hurriedly turn back to his food whenever he was near caught - flustered with a burn of visible red on his cheek… and somehow, Ueda felt proud at seeing this.
Koki, however, picks up on Taguchi’s unusual silence calling out to him, “Oi, Taguchi, what’s up with you? It’s not the usual you to be this quiet throughout dinner”, he scolds causing Taguchi to lift his head and smile at him.
“Oh, nothing. Uhm...” glancing over at Ueda who matches his stare causing him to quickly turn his head away, “Uhm... I was just wondering. You know that summer is coming, right? what are you guys planning for the holiday? Will you be going home?”
“Nope”, Kame answers slowly, “home is too far away. Besides, I enjoy being here too much. So, I will be staying... I guess”.
“And if Kame will be staying, then I will too!”, Jin answers as expected. Ueda rolls his eyes at seeing Kame ruffling Jin’s hair as Jin shows him his puppy eyes.
“Me too. I’m going to stay. The dorm is very quiet during the summer holiday. It’s good for my health”, Ueda informs.
“I don’t know, but if you guys will stay, then I will too. The more the merrier, right?” Nakamaru says.
“Of course you’re going to stay. Who else will be my victim if you’re home, Bakamaru?” Jin teases with his evil smirk. Nakamaru only glares at him.
“Well I can’t go home. I never go home during the summer holiday, Taguchi. As you know, Nishikido-sempai always gives me summer work whenever he’s back on his family’s villa-”
“He will not be giving you that work this year, Koki”, Taguchi interrupts.
“Eh, why? How do you know?” Koki asks in confusion.
Taguchi nods and continues, “because you will be going to the villa along with us”.
“Ha? I’m going to the Nishikido villa? Why? And with whom exactly? I’m confused, Taguchi”
“Yes, you’ll be going to the Nishikido villa. To my villa. To our villa. Uhm.. so, now that you guys aren’t planning to go home, would you mind going?”, Taguchi asks the rest of his flatmates.
“Yours and Nishikido’s....villa?” Koki asks curiously. The very fact of Taguchi and Nishikido owning a villa seems more interesting than the invitation they had just received.
“Oh, yes. Our villa. Our family villa, to be exact. Didn’t you know that we are brothers?-”
“You are WHAT?” Kame, Jin, Maru and Koki almost spat out their food at the surprise. Ueda just sips his tea and continues eating at hearing Taguchi’s announcement and the other’s reaction.
“Err yes. He’s my brother. Well, not really. His sister is my sister-in-law. So we are brothers-in-law,” Taguchi looks at his friends’ shocked face and so continues, “And I want you all to go to our villa this summer. Isn’t that good? We can spend our time together there. We can play on the beach, swim, play volleyball in the cool mornings, do barbeque at nights and even fireworks too… sounds nice right? Excited? Are you in?” Taguchi says and asks everything in one breath out of his excitement. The others, however, look at him dumbfounded.
“Oh Taguchi, I’m feeling dizzy from hearing that you and Nishikido-kun are brothers. Oh my head!” Jin massages his temples, “but of course I’m in!! Too much fun awaiting!!”. The others nod in agreement.
“What about you, Ueda? Are you in?” Kame asks curiously.
Ueda calmly sips his tea then turns to Taguchi, looking him straight in his eyes, “I’m in”, he says before immediately turning back to his food.
Taguchi smiles at hearing his confirmation, “then, we’ll be off a week from today” he says enthusiastically.
Without his friends knowing, Ueda smiles at his plate. He will make sure to monopolize Taguchi in that villa. He definitely will!
or so he thinks...

“Damn you, Nishikido!” is the one sentence repeating in Ueda’s mind throughout the journey to the villa. And how could he not think so if Nishikido keeps Taguchi to himself the entire way. His arrogant face really makes Ueda sick, making sure no one touches his Jun-chan, by keeping him way too close to himself, leaving Ueda no chance at being alone with Taguchi as planned.
The only chance he gets at making an attempt is the one time Nishikido went to the bathroom after they arrive at the villa. Ueda however, will not give up and so while the others play volleyball, he tries to approach Taguchi at that time. And he almost succeeded until Taguchi realizes his presence. Face coloured in bright-red, he only awkwardly smiles at Ueda, and then walks away leaving him standing alone without even looking back. Fuck!
What the fuck is wrong with him? Did I unintentionally do something wrong to him? Why does he end up walking away whenever I try to approach him? What the hell? just what the fucking hell is going on with you, Junno? Ueda is absorbed in his thought when someone pats his shoulder. Turning to see who it is, his face immediately falls in disappointment at realizing it’s Nishikido instead of Taguchi.
“What?” Ueda asks harshly, giving the I’m-not-in-the-mood-to-talk-to-you look. Nishikido smirks.
“I think I just saw something I shouldn’t have. Someone just got ditched, ah?” He mocks.
“Fuck you!” Ueda curses.
“Don’t feel like it. Eww!” Nishikido smirks. Ueda remains silent, “so, what’s going on with you guys? I used to hear that you two are the most passionate couple or so. What’s going on with Jun-chan? I thought you used to be together all the time? Why did he leave you alone here like a lost sheep?”
“Shut up! Why don’t you go ask your beloved lil brother instead?” Ueda retorts, keeping his face straight and unreadable, but his tone was full of emotion. On seeing that, Nishikido couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, putting his arm on Ueda’s shoulder.
“I have no idea why my-cute-lil-brother is giving you the cold shoulder but I think his feelings are quite obvious and you’re just too oblivious to see them”, looking at Ueda’s confused face, Nishikido continues, “isn’t it obvious that he is-”
“Ryo-chan”, Taguchi just suddenly comes out from behind them, “Onii-chan is coming! OH... I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you...”, he apologizes, turns around and leaves instantly. Ueda quickly frees himself from Nishikido on suddenly realizing the compromising situation in which Taguchi had just seen them. They both stand watching in dumbfoundment at seeing Taguchi walking away with speed. Slowly turning to look at Ueda beside him, “Uh oh... seems like there’s more problem for you”, he grins apologetically.
Damn it. Ueda curses, chasing after Taguchi.
At the same time, Nishikido picks up the phone speaking to someone, “Onii-san… he’s coming”.

“I think I just saw something I shouldn’t have. Someone just got ditched, ah?” He mocks.
“Fuck you!” Ueda curses.
“Don’t feel like it. Eww!” Nishikido smirks. Ueda remains silent, “so, what’s going on with you guys? I used to hear that you two are the most passionate couple or so. What’s going on with Jun-chan? I thought you used to be together all the time? Why did he leave you alone here like a lost sheep?”
“Shut up! Why don’t you go ask your beloved lil brother instead?” Ueda retorts, keeping his face straight and unreadable, but his tone was full of emotion. On seeing that, Nishikido couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, putting his arm on Ueda’s shoulder.
“I have no idea why my-cute-lil-brother is giving you the cold shoulder but I think his feelings are quite obvious and you’re just too oblivious to see them”, looking at Ueda’s confused face, Nishikido continues, “isn’t it obvious that he is-”
“Ryo-chan”, Taguchi just suddenly comes out from behind them, “Onii-chan is coming! OH... I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you...”, he apologizes, turns around and leaves instantly. Ueda quickly frees himself from Nishikido on suddenly realizing the compromising situation in which Taguchi had just seen them. They both stand watching in dumbfoundment at seeing Taguchi walking away with speed. Slowly turning to look at Ueda beside him, “Uh oh... seems like there’s more problem for you”, he grins apologetically.
Damn it. Ueda curses, chasing after Taguchi.
At the same time, Nishikido picks up the phone speaking to someone, “Onii-san… he’s coming”.
