[The communicator clicks on to a video of the Master; he's sat somewhere ― it's not clear where exactly, as he's keeping the feed fixed firmly on himself for the present, but it's somewhere with a chair at least. He looks, it has to be said, remarkably comfortable, and he takes a deep breath before exhaling loudly ― contentedly ― before speaking. For those unfamiliar with him, he sounds English and is well-spoken, albeit without an accent that would tie him to one particular place. Received Pronunciation. It's wonderful like that. He's also very well dressed. Suits all round, folks.]
Discedo. [He shoots the feed a smile.] It's been a long time, hasn't it? I hope you won't be too offended if I say I didn't miss you. [A beat, and he becomes a little more animated before standing up and disappearing out of view briefly.] Oh! But it's almost like I never left.
[After a moment, it's evident he's moved the communicator, and he directs the feed out of a window (or the empty pane where glass once was, to be more accurate). Those intricately familiar with Discedo may recognise it as Ingles Trail.]
It's still as desolate, decrepit and ―pitiful as it ever was. But tell me, peoples of Discedo, how have the last, ooh, seven months been for you? There must have been so much I've missed, so many people coming and going, so much ...excitement.
So. Shall we get to know each other again, Discedo? Harold Saxon, for those I didn't meet last time. [Returning the video to himself, he gives it a genial smile.] Why don't we all exchange a few stories, get to really know each other. After all, Discedo is a hubbub of species and races collected from across the stars.
[He reaches over as if to turn the communicator off, but stops, staring at it for a moment before raising his index finger.] ―There was one last thing. The chip. Is the location actually known this time around? And if it is―. Doctors, I'm sure I'll be saying 'hello' over the next few days. Alternatively, witch: if you're still here, I believe there was a deal we missed out on last time.
And I do try to keep my promises.
