"If I may, Mrs. Tyler," he says, giving her a slightly amused look-- that's quite an assortment of guests, not to mention his entire team and that could get interesting, "I offer myself for any assistance I can provide." He smiles, inclines his head. "I'm sure Rose can speak for my cooking."
No one ever claimed Jackie was sane. But she's more than a little capable and quite determined. And so if she wants a Sunday Roast? She is getting a Sunday Roast.
"Ooh, that would be wonderful, Ianto. I could certainly use the help. Not as easy to move around anymore, don't you know."
"I would be more than happy." He smiles again, making sure to cast a look at her pregnant belly. "Give you a chance to sit down and order me around, yeah?"
She grins, stroking a hand absently down her belly. "I do one of those things very well. I haven't been still for ages it seems like. Which is a lie, because I know Pete kept me off of my feet."
"You're welcome." He watches her, listening with care. "Pete-- your husband? And if that's the case, then just this once, you're going to take it easy."
"I'm sure he's fine," he says, his most reassuring tone firmly in place. "And who knows, it's only a matter of time before he comes along. Took over a month for my team to trickle in, but here they are, invited to Sunday roast."
He glances down, the back up, and he looks almost disbelieving. "Thank you, I think, Mrs. Tyler. She's been very good for me."
"Ah," he says at that, after looking faintly thoughtful a moment. "So he's also Torchwood. I hadn't realised. That does make for an interesting family life, I'd imagine."

She smiles. "Well, any friend of my daughters is a friend of mine, and a friend of her friend's is welcome along."

"Jack and I will have to introduce them to you proper. You'll love Tosh and Gwen, and you'll learn not to mind Owen."
Reply
"Yeah, she'll be a sister. Someone for the baby to look up to. She's the one of us who has the unique perspective on life."
She smiles. "I'd like that. And trust me; I've dealt with the Doctor, I'm sure Owen won't be a problem."

"Your little one's going to have quite the open mind."
He laughs at that. "Excellent point. Not much a mere Earthling could do to compare, I suppose."

She grins. "Quite. Dad leading Torchwood, sister traveling the universe..."
She laughs as well. "Ooh, you don't know half of it."

"Not sure I'd want to." A teasing raised eyebrow.

She nods. "Yeah. He does well. Things are always busy, but he works less than Rose does so it's all right."
"Can't say I blame you." She giggles.

"We're workaholics, the whole lot of us. Half of us forget to eat, the other half forget to sleep." A wry smile. "But it's good, good work."

"...Yeah. I know. Rose absolutely lets it consume her..."
