Cuddy was still fairly shaken up, but really, who wouldn’t be when presented with a devil wizard child and a man with giant wings, all in the space of fifteen minutes?

I just wanted to go to the spa. she though to herself. I’m going to wake up, and this will have been a horrible dream about how I can’t shirk my responsibilities.She wandered

And apparently out for a stroll of her own was someone who was neither devil wizard child or possessed of any wings at all.

"Lisa, hi. Enjoying the beach?"

Still on edge, Cuddy startled at bit when Stacy spoke to her. "Thank God," she said with a slight gasp, "a normal human being."

At which, Stacy looked vaguely amused. "Last I checked." She paused. "Are you okay?"

"No?" Cuddy replied. She indicated the ground beside her for Stacy to sit. "I'm still just," she stopped, losing the words. "Did you know there's a guy with wings inside?"

"I'd heard, but I hadn't seen." She sat down in the proffered spot. "This place is... strange. But mostly harmless."

"I'm having a hard time adjusting," Cuddy told her, in what was probably the understatement of the century. "And that little," she savored the word, "bastard inside took all the alcohol."

"Ouch. If it makes you feel better, it'll probably come back before too long. From what I've seen, the supplies are... self-stabilizing."

Cuddy tossed up her hands. "Am I the only person who thinks this is completely insane?"

"Sure it's insane, but it's not... dangerous, and it can't really be helped."

"Do we know it's not dangerous?" Cuddy flinched at how panicked her voice sounded.

"Well, I don't think it's much more dangerous than anyplace else. Just existing involves some degree of risk, after all. But.." She shrugs. "Some of us have been here a while. Nothing too terrible's happened."
