(no subject)
A girl, who looks much younger than she actually is, hesitates in the doorway of the hotel, looking back over her shoulder at the sky. She doesn't notice anything's wrong until the little boy in her arms pats her shoulder, asking "Mummy, mummy, where are we?" She turns and her eyes widen, this isn't the house where she left 'her kids.' Her arms tighten around the boy and she keeps her voice determinedly level.
"Don't worry, Jamie. Everything's fine." She glances back to find that the street she came from is no longer there and swallows hard before taking a few steps into the lobby, looking around with a little bit of fear and awe in her eyes. She hasn't seen anything like this before, buildings appearing out of nowhere and streets disappearing. Then again, nothing's been normal for a month now. She clears her throat and calls out, hoping she and her son won't get thrown out into who-knows-where once people realize that they're here. "Hello? Is anyone here?"
