Well. Isn't this an interesting turn of events? Step through a door in Gotham and come out here, wherever here is. The Joker smiles slowly, his tongue darting lizard-like over his lips

"Well holy fuckin' shit," Max drawls -- he's passing by from somewhere on the way to the kitchen. "Either I'm high, or you really are who I think you are."
The Joker taps his hands against the arms of his chair, studying the young man curiously.
"Or it could be both, let's not rule out possibilities, now. Who am I?" He laughs, kicking his feet in glee. "Isn't that an existential question? Who am I? Who are you? Who are we all?"
"Well, it could be both," Max says thoughtfully. "And if you wanna be existential, then -- I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together." Because what's a fancy Princeton education (and acid) for if he can't show off once in a while?
"Oh -- my God. The Joker." Dr. Horrible stares in awe and a little bit of admiration. "You're like -- as bad as Bad Horse. You're up at the top of the Evil League of Evil. I think your mission -- for anarchy. I think it's what the world needs. Though -- maybe not the killing." Blinkblinkblink. "I don't like -- having to kill people in order to bring about social change."
"Killing is sometimes necessary to get what you want." He shrugs, stating a simple point of fact. "Honored to be counted among the best of the best, though. I worked hard to be at the top."
He cackles, kicking his feet and clapping his hands in glee.
Warren isn't really expecting to see anyone when he walks into the lobby, and when he does and sees who it is, he freezes. The fact that he grew up in a world containing actual superheros and supervillains (like his dad!) makes this moment no less weird. He stares.
He really doesn't like the looks of this guy, but he knows from experience how to deal with psychopaths. He shoves his hands in his pockets, keeps his head low (though he's rather tall so we're not sure how effective that is), and starts for the door.

The Joker stands and cracks his neck. "If you know who I am why are you still here? Shouldn't you be afraid?"
