He enters carefully, not knowing what in heaven's name is going on. His bow is close to hand should anything threatening approach but for now, he's just slightly bewildered and convinced that it's all some sort of dream ( Read more... )

Connor's reclined on one of the sofas, flipping through a magazine. He sits up and peers over the back of the couch. Spotting all the weaponry, he grins. "You won't need that stuff here. This place is pretty harmless. Kinda boring, though."

"Boring? I think I can handle boring." At least he thinks he can. He hasn't been bored since he left for the crusades. He turns his attention to the foyer again. "You wouldn't happen to know what this place is, would you?" He pokes the couch experimentally, why didn't he have one of these at home? Ah, that's right, home was a forest, not the place for comfortable furniture.

"It's a hotel." Connor shrugs. "Pretty much all I know about it. It's a hotel in the middle of nowhere. People appear apparently randomly. No one, as far as I know, has found a way back home yet. It's messed up."

"But..." apparantly even earls (never mind ones that have lost their title) are susceptible to bewilderment. "But how? I don't understand." He frowns a little, trying to understand it, but it just doesn't seem possible.

Connor tilts his head sympathetically. "I don't think anyone really understands it. I don't get it either. I guess it's like magic or something." He makes a face. Stupid magic.

"Magic" he repeats, slightly disbelievingly, then laughs a short shocked laugh, but a friendly one nevertheless. "I have stepped into a fairy tale, it would seem!"

Connor's come to expect most people don't understand, or believe, in magic, witches, or any number of things he's experienced on a near-daily basis. But Robin seems friendly enough and there's nothing remotely demony about him, so Connor grins. "Well, I said it was strange."

He extends a hand. "I'm Connor."

He smiles back and shakes his hand firmly. "Robin of Locks... well, I guess they're calling me Robin Hood these days."

"Nice to meet you." He tilts his head curiously, and because he's never heard the legend, "Why the change in name?"

"The hangman's joke. Thought that since I was residing in the woods, I could be called as such, unfortunately the Sheriff misheard Robin Wood as Robin Hood."
