Peri peeked cautiously out of the TARDIS doors.

She'd been in the library, trying to forget a nightmare. Not her first choice - she'd thought she might go for a swim - but it was the first room she came to and she was tired, it felt as if she hadn't slept at all.

There was a shelf of botany texts next to the entrance, and if she was the type to thank ships she would have. As it was she'd smiled faintly, grabbed a book and sat down, getting lost in a far more comfortable world, just as interesting, where she felt more useful.

Then the TARDIS had landed, and she knew the Doctor would be yelling for her at any moment so, well, why not. It'd be distracting, anyway, whatever trouble they'd get into - that wouldn't change, too, would it? No, she didn't think so.

He wasn't there, though, and she could hardly just wait.

"Doctor?" Her voice carried quite well. It was a good talent to have, when you travelled with him.

"If you've left me behind..."

((Peri Brown, from Doctor Who. Come say hi, she's friendly! Usually.))
