Riley's been waiting for the right time to go combing through the hotel with his Initiative equipment. It had to be at night when most people were asleep. Especially Buffy. That would bring up way too many questions he didn't want to answer. Although when it comes to Buffy, he's tried to give her as much privacy as possible in reguards to the room. After all, they hadn't been involved very long at all, and it seemed inappropriate for... whoever was behind all of this to put them in the same room. And both showing up within a couple hours of each other? Someone definately wanted them there together. The question was why.
The other question is one he's trying to find an answer to. How to get home again.
There's another small matter that's kept him hiding away. Since arriving at the hotel, he really hasn't been feeling very well. Trembling, muscle weakness, chills... Some of his symptoms make him wonder if he might be contagious. So it's probably best to stay away from the other residents until he recovers.
So he waits until the lobby appears to be empty before creeping through to take some readings with his James Bond toys. Although, not feeling up to snuff it probably wouldn't be difficult for anyone to take him by surprise.
