No one would find him out here. But that was the whole point. He'd needed... well, he wasn't too entirely sure what anymore. So he'd found a nice lovely secluded cave and was laying in the darkness of it. He doesn't care that the moisture from the rocks is seeping into his clothing. That by the time he does decide to leave the cave he'll be cold. ( Read more... )

After a while, Jack will notice a click, a rustle, and Ianto's quiet voice in his ear. "Jack?" It's not 'sir,' not this time. He allows for a brief pause, then goes on, "Jack, I don't know why, and don't laugh, but I'm worried. Please answer."

And for a minute there he doesn't. He just listens to the quiet voice. "What is it, Ianto?" His own voice is soft but it sounds possibly tired... not really a physical tired but just... tired.

Ianto hesitates-- it's audible. "Shall I come to you?"

"You'd have to. I doubt I'm leaving my cave any time soon."

"Cave?" He pauses, reaches for a pen and a piece of paper. "Give me directions and I'll be right there."

"Yes, Ianto, cave." The Captain states before giving Ianto directions. There might be a bit of technobabble there but nothing Ianto wouldn't be able to understand.

Sometimes a little technobabble is good for the soul! Besides, Ianto happens to have experience with technobabble. When he's done, he says only "Stay there." before he sets off to find Jack.

Where else would he go? After all, he's got no intentions of moving from this spot that he's in. So when Ianto does find him its with eyes closed... and the Captain not really moving a muscle.

Ianto gets there as quickly as he can without running. When he steps into the cave, he's still wearing his suit, Jack's greatcoat folded over one arm.

He looks down a moment, then just as softly as he had over the comm: "I was right to worry."

"Were you?"

That voice is still soft and tired sounding.

"Yes, Jack." Uncaring of his clothes, Ianto carefully sits down next to Jack. "I was."

"How's that?"

"You're alone, in a cave, laying flat on your back with your eyes closed. That's explanation enough for me." He pauses; he still isn't quite used to the concept that he's allowed to ask Jack personal questions. "What's going on?"

It would probably be explaination enough for a lot of people. "Just thinking."

"I've brought you a coat. There's a chill and it's damp." And then he adds, carefully, "Would you like to talk?"

"I don't need the coat." And he knows that its chill and its damp. After all... he's laying on a cave floor. As for the question about the whole 'talking' bit, he frowns. "Don't you ever get tired of that?" We're not sure where that's coming from. "Listening to problems that aren't even your own."
