Here is someone who might look a little less foreign. Sherehazade was just out, taking some air - she has been quite cooped up lately, and certainly could use to meet new people.

She notices the girl by the railing, and makes a soft sound of greeting.

"As-salam-aleikum," she offers, gentle and non-invasive.

Mary feels less anxious at the sight of Sherehazade, who indeed reminds her of her people back home. She responds with a smile and a small bow. "Hello," she says softly.

Sherehazade inclines her head, very politely. "Hello," she replies, quiet and gentle. "You have just come, is it not true?"

"I have, yes. I'm not sure how I came to be here." She pauses for a moment to appreciate Sherehazade's overall appearance, jewelry, regalia, and all. She bows her head again, showing respect to a lady who is obviously of a much higher class than she is. "I'm pleased to meet you, lady."

Shéréhazade smiles, a little. “And I am as well,” she replies, friendly and open. “You may have passed in through the door of dreams, perhaps.” She wants to talk to this girl, who is the closest to a familiar sight the Arabian lady has seen in months, but etiquette requires introductions, first…

“I am Shéréhazade.” And she leaves it at that, not wanting to lord over Mary.

*facepalm* Please forgive my fail.

Mary smiles. "A beautiful name."

She blinks questioningly. "Door of dreams? Sounds... groovy." Mary smiles a little. She's definitely interested in getting to know Shéréhazade and hearing what she has to say.

Typist: *giggles* No worries. I've done much worse.

A bit of a smile back, and Shéréhazade tilts her head to the side. “It is how I came, and I thought perhaps you had - done the same. But what must I call you, then?”

A most comforting thought, Holmes. Ah, and also, Welcome. It’s good to see the com pop back to life.

"Oh," she laughs a little, nervously. "I never introduced myself. I apologize. My name is Mary."

She thinks over the whole door of dreams possibility. "Well... I was wandering the streets in search of shelter or a friend, but I found myself lost instead. When I turned around to retrace my steps, suddenly I was here on this boat."

XD And thank you! I've really missed RPing and I'm hoping this comm can pop back to life, as you put it. :D

She smiles, a little. “That is Hebrew,” she says. “We are neighbors, or almost. I am from Baghdad…” A beat, and she says, “Then perhaps you were fated to wander here, instead. The ways of Allah are impenetrable, and he would ever provide for his children when they are in need.”

As far as she is concerned, there is no animosity between her people and Mary’s - they are cousins, rather, who only chose another name for the One god.

It’s all good! If you ever want either of mine, just poke at. I fail at checking the com here, but I’m (ridiculously) active on DF, so it’s really just a matter of getting my attention.

Mary smiles, excited to learn that are indeed nearly neighbors. She holds no animosity, as she believes what Jesus told her about loving one another as brothers and sisters, as well as refraining from judging other people. "You are probably right. Our Father has plans for each of us." She smiles again, kindly. "If I may ask, what happened when you were brought here?"

Excellent. ^__^ I used to be SUPER active in DF way back in the day, but it's been about two years since I've been over there. I'm sure I'll wind up back there before too long. XD I miss it! But I'll be sure to give you a poke.

Scheherazade smiles, a little sadly. “I was just on my way to the sultan’s palace,” she says, thoughtfully. “I must have muttered ‘once upon a time’ on the way, because then… I was here….” Those four little magic words which open the gate of dreams and the world of stories… There is sadness, in her eyes. She’s often wondered how many virgins Suleyman had time to kill while she was stranded on the boat.

I admit bashfully that I just stalked your DF Wiki page. You used to have Westley, and I love you for that. Come by, when you’re up to it! We’re friendly. We will throw lots of love and puppets at you, hopefully, not too violently. XD Really. I’m Wil, by the way.

Mary frowns slightly upon seeing the sadness in her eyes. She reaches to touch her arm gently, comfortingly. "At least we aren't alone in this strange place. There must be some way... some way to get back home."

Ha! XD I forgot all about the DF Wiki. I haven't updated that in... probably two years? I love Westley. :) Sadly, I only played him for a short while. I may pick him back up if he's available. I used to have a TON of Harry Potter puppets (we're talking about 5 or 6 at one time XD) including Professor McGonagall. I'm definitely planning to make a return sometime soon. And it's nice to meet you, Wil. :D

"I haven't found any, and in the three months that I have been here, not once have I seen mainland." She smiles a little, though. "I am grateful, though, that a friend has come."

Ah, the DF Wiki is not that up to date, though I've personally made a point to at least create stubs every time we have a new puppet. (No, I don't mod it, I just have some strange obsessive tendencies with Wikis). Westley is available, and though some of their typists are around, I think most HP figments are either deemed abandoned and could be picked up again after a tag in the OOC com. Mostly, these days, we have a ton of A Song of Fire and Ice, Tolkien, Arthurian, Black Jewel Trilogy and miscellaneous characters.

"Mm... I see." She's disappointed that she's apparently stuck here indefinitely, but very pleased that Scheherazade already considers her to be a friend. She smiles brightly. "I'm very glad I met you, and I only hope that I can properly live up to the name 'friend.'"

"I do not doubt that you will, you seem fair and gentle," Scherehazade replies with a sweet smile. "But perhaps I should be a better hostess, and show you about. Have you found a place to reside, as of yet?"

Mary nods her head politely. "You have been very kind in welcoming me. Thank you. I haven't found a place yet, no. I wouldn't even know where to look." She grins sheepishly.
