All Hallows Eve... costume party? It seems a little irreligious to Robin, even Popish. But he's too new to this place to object - not that he'd object very strenuously under any circumstances.

"Is this traditional, sir?" he asks.

"Yeah, it is. It's a lot of fun -- you dress up, dance, play music. Hang out with your friends. That sort of thing." He offered his hand, "I'm Mark Cohen, are you new here?"

Robin gives the proffered hand a dead-fish handshake. "Robin Oakapple. Tell me, sir, and I hope it isn't indelicate to ask, but... are we all quite alive here?"

Oddly enough, this was not quite a new question for Mark. He shook Robin's hand and nodded slowly, "We're all alive, yeah."

"Well, then." Robin runs through his mental list of possibilities. He hasn't read any Washington Irving, but he's a quick study. "What year is this?"
