Roger's been ill at ease since his strange
encounter. But there is something to be said about how much he's changed since he arrived on the boat, in that he hasn't crawled away somewhere to get drunk, high, or some combination of the two.
Instead, he's been in the room he and Mark share, scribbling in his notebook. He's come out occasionally for food and coffee, but that's about it.
Today, he's out on the deck, guitar in hand. The writing hasn't gone anywhere good, or so he thinks, so it's time for Plan B - losing himself to the music.
