A young man arrives on the deck of the ship, however it is one arrives, probably in his case with a good deal of glowing.

He's a rather lower-class fellow from a Dickensian London and is dressed as such. And he has a cloth cap. He's rather short, and one could probably pass him off as a boyish girl if they put him in a dress and lengthened his hair.

He is holding a longish stick with a lit wick at one end, and on his shoulder is a ladder. He looks about himself with amusement but not much surprise, and when he speaks he has a slight Irish accent.

"A boat! That's quite a jump."

Typist: Hiiii! *waves* This here's the Lamplighter from "A Christmas Carol." He's also the Ghost of Christmas Past. Lamplighting's his day job. And an excuse to scope out people.
