Fellow Shipmates. As confusifying as being on a ship in the middle of nowhere is, let us put aside our confusion for one day.... and celebrate!!!

The ballroom is decked out in amazing colours and there are tables of food and (some might say more importantly) alcohol. There is a stage where Roger Davis is setting up.

Margaret enters quietly, staying near the walls, looking for one face that promised to be present, not daring to even think what she would do if she doesn't see it, but half expecting she won't.

Hamlet edged closer to Margaret, staying along the walls. He reached out and took her hand, leaning in close to whisper, "Mayhaps if we remain here we may yet remain unseen."

She smiles. "The violet is never seen. She was born for the shadows."

Hamlet pressed her hand to his lips. "How do you, Lady Margaret?"

"Is it wrong to fear, Prince Hamlet?" She glances furtively at all the people, not used to this much colour and noise.

Hamlet's expression softened a little at knowing that she was just as nervous as he was. "Nah, ne'er wrong to fear, sweet lady."

She shifts closer to him, though her eyes never leave the crowd. "Those ladies sparkle. They are roses and fairer."

"And yet the fairest is here with me."

[daftmadge]

The look she turns on him is sharp. "Don't lie. You know some of those others are beautiful." She looks over the dancing crowd. "Not all, perhaps, but those who aren't still think they are."
