So, Squeaky was thinking that maybe she could trick the vending machine to accept a button, but it really didn't work, so she was stuck with a broken vending machine and her dress was missing a button and she was trying to think of what Charlie would do, but Charlie probably didn't get into that sort of situation. Charlie - not Squeaky's Charlie, this confusion happens often - bounds over, perhaps drawn by the power of his book. Flopping down on the floor beside her, he asks, rather awkwardly: "Enjoying it, sweet cakes?"

Squeaky peers at him for a moment, glances at the book, and then back at Charlie. "I. love. it," she says slowly, beaming. "It's like confusing a bunch, but then it all comes together, y'know? It makes sense. Do you know anything about vending machines?"

"Vending machines?" says Charlie thoughtfully. "No, I know nothing about... vending machines. But I know a lot about many other things. Like hats!"

[unworthysqueaky]

"Oooh!" she squeals. "I think there's a hat shop somewhere, d'you wanna go? I'll get matching hats for me 'n' Charlie."

"And I can get matching hats for me and - " Charlie pauses, thinking. "Uhm. You know. That girl I talked to... that one time."

Squeaky patted Charlie's arm. "We can get matching hats too, you know."

Charlie smiles. "Aww... thanks... but I don't want to intrud on your little freaky god worship sex slave thing you've got going with other!Charlie."

Squeaky bounces excitedly. "We can start a club! I know you love clubs, like I do!" She ponders. "What should our club be about?"

"Group sex!" cries Charlie. "I mean - books!"

"Oh my god! I love group sex and books!" Squeaky squeals again. "Um... OOOH. How about the...um, We Love Booth Club?!"

Charlie ponders this for a moment. On one hand, he is quite fond of John, but on the other hand, a fan club would quite feed John's ego, and that certainly is not necessary.

"How about, a We Love John, Books, & Hats Club?" he says finally. "Oh, and group sex."

"Yeah!" Squeaky beams. Her Charlie would be proud, wouldn't he? "First order of business is to get matching hats."

"Well, since this is the We Love John, Books, Hats and Group Sex Club, wouldn't it be logical to get matching Johns first?" says Charlie with a frown. "Or rather, one John, I suppose, though wouldn't that be something if there were two? After that, we can get books... actually after that, why don't we skip to the group sex?"

[unworthysqueaky]

"I say we get matching hats, then books, and then we can look for John and have group sex," she says with a firm nod, scrambling to her feet, immediately forgetting her button in the vending machine.

"Awww," says Charlie, obviously disappointed. "Well, I guess we could do that. So is there a hat shop on this boat?"

"Duh," says she, fluffing her messy hair. "It's... somewhere. Trust me." She holds a hand out to help him to his feet.
