"Hmmm, not particularly.... Tell me, though, sir," he says abruptly, all business and all the more handsome for it. "Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get your name in the history books?"

No, not really. I think it might feel a little strange, actually.

[americancousin]

"You mean it might feel a little wonderful!" cries Booth, ever the salesman. "Take it from someone who knows, kid. To know your name is known by every person in America before they reach high school.... It's absolutely... intoxicating. And it can be yours. Interested, kid?"

[lovesleuth]

I think I'm okay with just the people in Heartsville knowing who I am.

[americancousin]

"Are you sure," Booth coos. "You could change lives. Fulfill your own destiny and the destiny of others." At this, Booth's eyes take on a slightly hungry, insane look. "Join me, kid, and let's wreak havoc they'll still be talking about hundreds of years from now!"

[lovesleuth]

I like to think I already change lives. I help my friends with lots of things. *and smiles, a little nervously* I like it that way.

[americancousin]

Booth smiles, a little deranged smile. He didn't get Lee Harvey Oswald to where he is/was without persistance. "Oh sure. But here's your chance to help the *world* -- to grant bravery and pride and even *fear* the world over!"

Fear? *frowns a bit* Why would I want that?

[americancousin]

"Who *wouldn't* want it? Fear means power and respect." At this, Booth holds out a pistol to Zanna. "Go ahead, kid, take it. There's no telling what'll happen and, who knows," he drawls, eyes bulging. "You might not find your target but *something'll* happen, and *that's* what it's all about."

I don't need any more power than I've got, though--! *and takes a step away* I really don't think this is a good idea.

[americancousin]

"Damn it, man! This is the best idea a man can ever have! Bring down your tyrant -- destroy him -- and you can have everything you've ever wanted! Take it... and make sure our legacy has not been in vain...."

*blinkblink* I don't think anything's been in vain! I like the way things have been.

Booth quiets for a moment, smouldering. He calmly replaces the pistol, putting it into his breast pocket. "Fine," he growls with narrowed eyes. "But we'll be waiting... we *will* get our day again."

. . . Please don't hurt anyone, okay? *big-eyed well-meaning look*

"I only hurt tyrants," murmurs Booth. "And anyone dumb enough to get in my way."
