Being a frequent visitor to the Mansion, Hermione immediately spots the mistletoe hanging in various places. Not sure what to think, she shakes her head in amusement.
If "facepalming" was an actual verb, that's what Hermione would be doing right about now. In stead, she just closes her eyes briefly and turns around with a smile on her face.
"That with the arrival of December, this particular custom would also return."
She points up at some of the places that have mistletoe hanging from them.
"See, that's the thing. I really shouldn't be here. Mad Sweeney broke my nose a few days ago, and Cho says I really shouldn't be kissing anyone until it heals properly..."
"I really -should- have known."

She stutters a bit before blushing faintly.
"The ... custom... in my time is for two people who find themselves caught under the... errmm... mistletoe... to kiss."

He grins without remorse and hopes Cho isn't here to catch him.
"Hello, Granger."
And he kisses her cheek quickly, even though he's not supposed to do any kissing.

He scratches his scalp and looks slightly uncomfortable.

"Well, no, obviously not. But... It's good to see you, I'm... glad. Does... Do the others know you're here yet?"

"Well, Cho offered me a place to stay, so she knows. And... umm... I've met a few of the others, if that's what you mean?"

"So... you've met Harry then? And... ahhh... who else?"

He chuckles at the memory of meeting Mad Sweeney.
"Then there's that Malfoy kid. Oh, and Johnson..."

She looks at him more closely, now that the surprise has vanished.
"What are you doing here then, kissing strange witches?"
She offers a small grin, sort of trying to ease what tension there might've been.
