Being a frequent visitor to the Mansion, Hermione immediately spots the mistletoe hanging in various places. Not sure what to think, she shakes her head in amusement.

"I really -should- have known."

[elendilson]

"Known what?" A voice sounds behind her. The speaker is undoubtedly amused, although he does not know the custom.

If "facepalming" was an actual verb, that's what Hermione would be doing right about now. In stead, she just closes her eyes briefly and turns around with a smile on her face.

"That with the arrival of December, this particular custom would also return."

She points up at some of the places that have mistletoe hanging from them.

"Putting up mistletoe?" Anárion looks confused. "What does it mean?"

[mostgiftedwitch]

"Oh... errmm..."

She stutters a bit before blushing faintly.

"The ... custom... in my time is for two people who find themselves caught under the... errmm... mistletoe... to kiss."

Miss Hermione! Have a kiss! *kisses on the cheek*

Caught off guard by James' sudden appearance (and kiss), she can't help but laugh.

"Mr. Potter! You're incorrigible! ... But thank you."

[hufflepuffchamp]

"Yes, you really should have."

He grins without remorse and hopes Cho isn't here to catch him.

"Hello, Granger."

And he kisses her cheek quickly, even though he's not supposed to do any kissing.

She's beginning to think it was a bad idea, stepping foot inside the Mansion. First Anárion... then James Potter and now... Cedric Diggory?!?!?

"... Cedric?!? You're... alive?"

[hufflepuffchamp]

"... Uhh... yeah. You didn't know?"

He scratches his scalp and looks slightly uncomfortable.

[mostgiftedwitch]

She coughs once to get her voice back... sort of.

"Well, no, obviously not. But... It's good to see you, I'm... glad. Does... Do the others know you're here yet?"

[hufflepuffchamp]

He grins in a goofy sort of way.

"Well, Cho offered me a place to stay, so she knows. And... umm... I've met a few of the others, if that's what you mean?"

[mostgiftedwitch]

She hesitates briefly.

"So... you've met Harry then? And... ahhh... who else?"

[hufflepuffchamp]

"Well, there was this one character... Mad Sweeney he said his name was."

He chuckles at the memory of meeting Mad Sweeney.

"Then there's that Malfoy kid. Oh, and Johnson..."

[mostgiftedwitch]

"Well, not that it matters, I'm sure you'll meet other people as time passes..."

She looks at him more closely, now that the surprise has vanished.

"What are you doing here then, kissing strange witches?"

She offers a small grin, sort of trying to ease what tension there might've been.

He grins back automatically.

"See, that's the thing. I really shouldn't be here. Mad Sweeney broke my nose a few days ago, and Cho says I really shouldn't be kissing anyone until it heals properly..."
