*felt Thom's magic stirring and went looking for him* *he chances the hurroks as he looks, surrounding himself with enough of his Gift that the immortals stay away* *when a curious young hurrok comes forward, he reaches out with his gift, scorching the creature's rump* *when the young one's family darts forward to defend their young, he sighs and waits, keeping his shield up with gritted teeth* *When the get before and move away, he continues to look for Thom*

There you are! *pulls Thom into his arms* Come on, I'm bringing you inside.

*glancing at the hurroks* It went wrong. It wasn't supposed to end up this way...

*dryly* Obviously. What were you trying to do?

*tiredly* Open a portal to the immortal realms.

*shakes his head and moves Thom catiously towards the mansion door* *Thom is one of the most powerful mages he knows, but sometimes, when he gets a thought into his head, he just doesn't have common sense* *is evidence of that, actually* And you didn't suppose that the immortals could travel through that portal as easily as you could?

*brings him inside without mishap, thank .. whatever* *sets him down on a near by couch* Well, don't try to get it right again for a while. Alright? *frowns at him, sternly, though more out of concern than anger*

Someone else can deal with them. You're drained and I'm watching you. *gives him a look that promises horrible things if he tries to get up and deal with them before he has recovered*

*scowls* I will not leave my sister and Raoul out there alone.

*scowls back* They are knights and capable of taking care fo themselves.

*irritably* I know that, it's the point of the thing!
