Linden has been unchildafied, and here is he, sitting quietly on the porch with a book. It doesn't seem to be illegal, and that's quite fine with him; he really does like reading.
He isn't, however, so absorbed that he wouldn't like conversation. Go on, poke him. He's good for engaging in theological discussions; or he can be easily incited to murder if you pretend it's for the good of his cause; he's always up for religious intolerance; and because he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, he's more than willing to offer extraordinary sympathy and understanding.
After a small the end of chapter, he sighs softly, straightens his cane across his knees, and stretches unobtrusively.
