Cho leaves the library slowly, a large book in front of her face as usual. Passing out into the hall, she sees someone standing there. "Hello," she says absent-mindedly, and proceeds on her way.
A few moments later, she stops dead in her tracks, lowering the book from her view. She turns around slowly, a look of numb shock on her face. Her mouth opens and closes, but no sound comes out.
He continues rubbing his forehead and mutters something to himself, before looking up. A half-spoken greeting gets stuck as he sees just who said "Hello".
His voice suddenly pulling her out of her mental stupour, Cho jerks back, eyes widening and drops her book with a loud thud. "Cedric..." she whispers. Her face contorts with confusion and she shakes her head suddenly, as if having a mental argument with herself. He wasn't supposed to be here.
Not able to meet his gaze, she quickly picks up her book and hugs it to her chest. "I could ask you the same thing," she says quietly.
Struggling with whether to run or to stay, she heaves a big sigh and shrugs. "This is the Mansion." Staring at her shoes as if they were the most interesting things ever, she runs her nails along the pages of her book.
His confusion only grows. Cho's here? ... Wherever "here" is.
"The last thing I remember is this ominous loo--..." He stops before finishing that sentence, taking in Cho's body language at last. His gentle nature takes over as he leans in closer.
Flinching as he comes closer, Cho slowly takes a small step back, still trying to get her head on straight. Not sure what to say, or how to say it, or how to make it easier for anyone, she heaves a big sigh, speaking mechanically while she tamps down her emotions.
"The Mansion, from what I've been able to determine, is hosted in an alternate reality. This isn't... home. This is... somewhere else. And in this 'somewhere else', people from other realities, other worlds show up. Even other times. Even if they... died in their world. They all exist here."
Cho winces at his question and slowly shakes her head. "W-w-we're not dead. At least, I n-n-never died and suddenly showed up here." Propping one book on her hip, she rubs her temple with the other. Why was this so bloody hard?
Seeing his face transform, she drops her book and reaches out to him, her hands grasping his arms. How could I be so tactless? she kicks herself for not thinking things out properly.
"Cedric, Cedric, it'll be o--you're here. You're alive. You're alive..." she says the last more to herself than to him, her mind reeling and her eyes glossing over. Then shaking her head for a moment, she grits her teeth and sucks in a breath.
"You're alright. I've got you..." Too late, a few big fat tears roll down her eyes.
Heaving a big sigh, her hands rest on his knees, unsure of what to say next. "..." Forcing down her own emotions, she tries to focus on Cedric and helping him reach even ground.
A few moments later, she stops dead in her tracks, lowering the book from her view. She turns around slowly, a look of numb shock on her face. Her mouth opens and closes, but no sound comes out.

He shakes his head, this isn't like him, to stutter this badly.

"Oh... I see. And..."
But before he can finish his question, another thought occurs to him.
"Wait... you said died. ... Are we... dead?"

"... Oh God... Oh no. Oh... Merlin help me..."
He brings his hands to his temples and starts rocking back and forth.

"I... uhh... I remember a few things, yeah..."
He continues rubbing his forehead, starting to think it's no wonder his headache won't go away.

"I... I remember this high-pitched voice and then... this sickly green light and..."
He whispers, more to himself, but loud enough for Cho to hear.
"Kill the spare."
