"Oh, have we another person vying to rule the world and enlighten us all?" Lestat smirks, folding his arms over his chest. "We'll see if you fare better than the others."
"How long has the other kept the world in his hold?" Raphael folds his own arms and smiles back at Lestat. "Five hundred years? I will see what I can do to beat that record. As for enlightenment, I have already proven there is no god."
"And I have it." End, as far as Raphael is concerned, of discussion.
He smiles slowly. "I," he says proudly, "have broken every rule set down in the Librera. I have held off the melody of the Gloria. I have stood where the thunderbolt Jovah sends to smite me is to fall, and it has not fallen. There is no god."
"So... because you were not smited at the time you thought you were supposed to be, that proves there is no god and your almighty power?" Lestat laughs for a while, shaking his head. "I think I'm going to like it here."
