The twins enter the Mansion through the main doors and look around quickly. "Do you see anyone, Fred?"
"Not a one, George."
"Good, let's get this thing going then."
They hustle into the main hallway, carrying a rather large box and lay it out in the middle of the hall. With a flick of their wands the box bursts open, and a pillar of fog fills the air. Moments later there is a large swamp filling the entire hall, complete with frogs, slimy logs, trees, even a couple vultures.
George pinches his nose and whistles. "Whew! Fred, did you add that stench?"
"Thought it made it more realistic, idn'it?"
"Blocks all the doorways."
"I'd say so."
"How'd you think they're going to get around?"
"That's the fun! Watching them try."
"They could go through it."
"Yeah, and get the stench stuck on them for a week." They look at each other and grin evilly for a moment. "Guess we better tuck ourselves off in a corner and see what happens, eh?" George nods and they disappear into a darkened corner to watch what ensues.
Typist: Feel free to come up with any angle on the swamp you like, and any number of ways to navigate through it as it covers the first floor. Keep in mind, if anyone wades through it or does as little as stick a foot in the swamp, the character will stink for a week. That is, unless they get help from any of our witch/wizard folk. :D
