Francine is always investigating things that are left out in the open, and when she sees the shoes she just has to go over (in all her sparkly, winged, princess-gown glory thanks to Epi's crackplot) and poke at the smaller shoes.
Michael watches her. Children--children are the reason he is cast from Heaven; because he was disobedient for the sake of children. He was, even in an Angelic state, mindful of them; and in a human state, can't help but still be slightly fascinated by them.
Not knowing she's being watched, Francine picks up a pretty red pair decorated with glass beads and quickly pulls off her own shoes. She plops down on the ground, poofy skirt flaring around her, and tries to pull them on.
As usual, he's unable to identify human emotions, so he doesn't understand in the slightest what he's feeling; but if he could, it would be a kind of very quiet pleasure. He likes watching a child happy.
She gets the shoes on, and after deciding that they fit she jumps up and spins around on her toes, having decided that these are perfect shoes to dance in.
Francine spins and dances around the room for a bit longer, feeling like a real princess in the pretty shoes and her dress. Eventually, though, she scampers toward the kitchen to see if there's any cookies left from the batches that Max baked a few posts ago.
