Introduction: Rattus Rattus

He'd be the first to admit that he is just a rat, because no one in their right mind could want to be anything else. Looking at him, all one would see is a large black rat, of the common house type -- and of course a mansion this big must have rats, so his appearance can't be all that surprising. But he is no ordinary rat, not at all. He is Rattus

*not a mouse, he'll have you know-!* *sits up, nosetwitching, and regards her*

Hello, little girl! *and whether or not she can hear his (cheeky, but friendly) voice in her head depends on her clarity of mind and willingness to believe-- with Alice, there's probably no question*

*no question at all-- she hears and smiles very brightly; perhaps she's been trying for ages to meet a small creature who would speak to her out of Wonderland* Oh--! You can speak.

Of course I can. I am Rattus Rattus! *sketches a bow, as well at a rat may* And who do I have the pleasure of addressing?

Why, I'm Alice. *--and she'd try to curtsy or even bow, but she's down on her knees, and so she merely bows her head in what she hopes is respect*

*feels suitably respected, and manages to convey a grin* A good name, Alice! I knew an Alice once. Brave girl. It's a pleasure to meet you Alice.

*beams!* Oh, why, thank you. Have you a name, Sir M-- oh, dear me, Sir Rat?
